Description
The Sunny Boy Control and the Sunny Boy Control Plus are equipped with numerous interfaces on the bottom of
the enclosure. These interfaces can be modified by installing or removing Piggy-Backs in order to meet individual
requirements for PV-plant monitoring.
Caution: Any work within the enclosure of the Sunny Boy Control is only allowed when the Sunny
Boy Control is disconnected from the supply voltage. Pull the AC plug of the Sunny Boy Control
before you remove the lid!
Caution: Pay attention to all applicable ESD protective countermeasures! The Sunny Boy Control is
assembled with components that are very vulnerable to electrostatic discharge. Make sure that you
are electrically connected to the enclosure of the Sunny Boy Control before you touch anything
inside the enclosure.
Note: The Sunny Boy Control Plus is equipped with an additional PCB that covers the Piggy-Back
sockets for COM 1 and COM 2. You must loosen two screws on the top of this PCB and the DSUB
connectors AUX, Digital IN/OUT and Analog IN on the underside first. Some older versions of the
Sunny Boy Control Plus are equipped with top PCBs that cannot be removed. Please contact SMA in
these cases.
