3. Intended use

The LX-2000 lux meter allows precise measurement of the illuminance in lux or foot-candle (ft-cd). The measurement
range is from 0 to 100000 lux or 0 to 10000 ft-cd.
For various light sources and light colours (for example, conventional incandescent lamps or LED lights), a correction
factor can be preset to measure the actual illuminance. Some light sources are already preset.
Measurements are made via a photo-element with a filter, that separates the visible light spectrum in order to be
measured.
An integrated real-time data logger allows measurement data to be recorded and stored on an optional SD memory
card. The data are stored in .xls format in a unique file structure on the SD card to be read off and further processed
by spreadsheet programmes (for example, MS Excel).
As an option, you can connect a thermocouple temperature sensor of type K or J. This sensor also enables to meas-
ure the temperature.
The meter can be positioned so that the display is clearly visible with the rear clamp holder.
The meter is supplied by 6 Mignon (AA) batteries. Rechargeable batteries cannot be used due to the lower cell volt-
age.
In addition, the meter can be operated via the existing DC socket with an optional power supply. The power supply
must provide a stabilised voltage of 9 V/DC. In power supply mode, the internal batteries are disabled.
The meter is not ATEX protected. It must not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres (Ex).
An operation under adverse environmental conditions such as moisture, high humidity, combustible gases, vapours
or solvents is not permitted.
Any use other than that described above is not permitted and may damage the product. Furthermore, there are dan-
gers such as short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc.
The product must not be modified or reassembled!
