13. Data logger with SD memory card

The meter allows measurement data to be stored on an optional SD memory card. These data can be imported and
further processed using spreadsheet programmes such as MS Excel.
The measurement data are stored in a unique file structure on the memory card.

a) Preparing for the data logger function

Inserting the SD card
• Prepare an SD memory card (1 – 16 GB). Insert the SD card into the SD card slot (20). The SD memory card con-
tacts must point to the top of the device. First, fully insert the memory card with the contacts into the SD card slot.
Release the memory card. The memory card must catch in the slot.
• To remove the memory card, turn off the meter. Briefly press the memory card. The memory card will be released
and pushed out by approx. 10 mm. The memory card can be removed.
Formatting an SD card
• When the SD memory card is inserted into the meter for the first time, it should be formatted first. Formatting of the
SD memory card is described in chapter "Setup, c) System settings".
Setting the time
• Before using the logger function, make sure that the date and system time of the meter are set correctly. The
measurement data are saved with a date and time stamp. Time setting is described in chapter "Setup, c) System
settings".
Setting the decimal point
• In Europe, the decimal point option is comma (,) by default (example: 1234,5). If you want to use point (.) instead
(example: 1234.5), refer to chapter "Setup, c) System settings".

b) Automatic data logging

The meter automatically records measurement data at the preset interval time. The interval time setting must be
≥1 second. The interval time setting is described in chapter "Setup, c) System settings".
If applicable, select an interval time greater than 1 second since measurement data may be lost
during that short interval time.
• Turn on the meter and select the respective measurement function (illumination/temperature).
Starting the data logger
• Press and hold down the "LOG" button (8) for approx. 3 seconds. "LOG" will be displayed in the bottom line. The
"REC" memory symbol will flash and each saving operation will be confirmed with a beep.
The memory card is checked at each startup. The display briefly shows "SCAn Sd". If a missing or faulty
memory card is detected, a warning message "Sd -E-" will be displayed with a triple warning beep. In this
case, check that the memory card is inserted correctly and functions properly.
