EN: Installation Sheet
Introduction
The EV520/530-P Series includes models EV525-P, EV526-P,
EV535-P, and EV536-P. These detectors have a patented
mirror, pyro, and signal processing technology.
Siting the detector
See fig. 2. Install the detector so that the expected movement
of an intruder will be across the fields of view. This is the
direction best detected by PIR detectors.
Avoid possible false alarm sources such as:
Direct sunlight onto the detector;
Heat sources in a field of view (heaters, radiators, etc.);
Strong air draughts onto the detector (fans, air
conditioning etc.);
Large animals (dogs, cats) in a field of view.
Obscuring the detector field of view with large objects,
such as furniture
Mounting
nstructions
I
See fig. 1a
1.
Open detector (item 1) and remove electronics module
(item 2), taking care not to touch pyroelectric sensor
(item 3).
2.
Break out one or both cable entry hole(s) as required
(item 4).
3.
Select mounting holes for corner (item 5) or flat wall
(item 6) mounting.
4.
Mount the detector between 1.8 to 3.0 m high.
5.
Use the base as a template for marking screw hole
locations on the wall.
6.
Fasten the base to the wall.
7.
Strip cable for 5 cm and pull it through the cable entry
hole(s) and strain relief (fig. 1b).
8.
Replace the electronics module (item 2) and wire the
sensor as shown (fig. 3 and 4).
9.
Move jumpers as required, replace cover (item 1), insert
screw (item 7).
Programming the sensitivity
See fig
Sensitivity is programmed according to the position
. 3.
of jumper J1.
BI: Bi-curtain mode. In this setting an extra level of processing
is applied to provide enhanced stability in the presence of false
alarm hazards in smaller areas. Not suitable for single curtain
applications or a range less than 1.5 m (fig. 7 and 8).
Note:
Bi-curtain is used to reduce the possibility of false
alarms. It looks for signal verification and requires the intruder
to be seen in two curtains for an alarm. Not to be used in
undercrawl and long range application.
STD: Standard sensitivity. Suitable for most wide-angle
applications and for single curtain pattern.
Programming the range
See fig. 3. Program the range at jumper J2 for range under 10
m or to 16 m for wide angle application, with long range
application set J2 always to 16 m. It is important to program
the sensor correctly for optimum sensitivity. Close the detector.
Walk test the sensor regularly by walking across the fields of
view and checking that the LED lights and that the opening
relay is indicated back at the control panel.

Note:
Programming J2 for range under 10 m, blind mirror part
(fig. 1, item 8). With the blinder (fig. 8) the 25 m segment is no
longer active. Not to be used in undercrawl and long range
application.
Alarm memory (EV535-P/EV536-P)
See fig. 3b and 3c.
Note:
First set the Control Voltage ("CV") by jumper J4. For
example: J4 = "−", then "CV" = 0 Volt = "Low".
Connect "CV" to terminal 9 when the system is armed. When
system is disarmed, disconnect the "CV". If an alarm has
occurred during the armed period, the detector or detectors
which gave the alarm are indicated by a flashing LED. Re-
applying the "CV" (rearming the system) will reset LED
indication and memory.
LED jumper and remote control of LED
(EV525-P/EV526-P only)
See fig. 3 and 4. Move jumper J3 to position OFF/REMOTE.
The LED may now be enabled remotely by applying a 0 Volt
potential to terminal 8.
Dual loop application (EV525-P/EV535-P
only)
See fig.
Program the unit for dual loop application with J5.
4.
J5 not mounted: Standard connection (fig. 3a and 3b)
J5 mounted: Dual loop application (fig. 4a and 4b; do not wire
connector 4 and 7!)
Remote enable
disable of walk test LED
/
See fig.
5.
To walk test the detector, the "CV" to terminal 9 (latch) must be
disconnected. Connect "CV" to terminal 10. The detector's
LED will now light and go out again as the alarm relay opens
and closes, making possible walk testing.
Notes
Enabling the walk test will not clear alarm memory. After
disarming the system after an alarm, you may switch to
walk test. When you switch back out of walk test, the
indication of memorized alarms will re-appear. Only when
"CV" is re-applied to terminal 9 (i.e. system is rearmed) will
LEDs and memory be cleared.
To enable the walk test LED without a remote "CV" input,
connect a link between terminal 2 and 10.
Selecting the coverage pattern
See fig. 6 and 7. Mask the appropriate mirror curtains with the
adhesive labels provided and reassemble the sensor module.
For example: see fig. 6 for mirror curtain coverage pattern
corresponding to curtain 2A and 2B, 7A and 9B masked.
Caution:
Removing labels can damage the mirror surface!
The coverage pattern can be changed to fit specific
requirements using the mirror masks. Mask off unused curtains
which might otherwise be looking at walls or windows very
close to the detector.
Window mask
See fig
In the presence of objects close to (within 1.5 m) and
. 8.
directly under the detector, the window mask should be fitted to
the inside of the window.
