Working Instructions

Disconnect the air hose from the air supply be-
fore making any adjustments, changing acces-
sories, or storing the tool. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the tool acciden-
tally.
Excess loads that cause the tool to stall or reduce
speed will not damage the motor.
In the event of an interruption of the air supply
or reduced operating pressure, switch off the
tool. Check the operating pressure and start
again when the pressure returns to normal.
Uses of Angle Grinders
The choice of accessories, such as abrasive, cut-off,
or wire brushing wheels, segmented abrasive wheels,
and rubber backing pads with sanding disc, depends
on the particular use and the area of application.
Optimal results are obtained when you move the
wheel back and forth with light force.
Too strong a force diminishes the performance of the
tool and the wheels wear more rapidly.
Your dealer can help you in choosing appropriate ac-
cessory tools.
Grinding with Segmented Abrasive Wheels
In a segmented abrasive wheel, the grinding blades
are distributed in an overlapping circular manner on a
support disc made of metal or plastic. The segmented
abrasive wheel can be used to work on curved surfac-
es and profiles (contour grinding) as well.
Segmented abrasive wheels are low noise, have a high
stock removal capacity, and have low grinding tem-
peratures.

Grinding with Cut-Off Wheels
Cut-off wheels serve for depth grinding
(cutting) and usually have a thickness of
1 to 3 mm. Thinner cut-off wheels grind
more rapidly, for a comparable tool
power, than thicker cut-off wheels, but
twist more easily in the material.
avoid binding the cut-off wheel. Do not perform any
overly deep cuts; not deeper than 20 % of the diam-
eter of the cut-off wheel (see Product Specifications).
Grinding with Wire Brush Wheels
Wire brush wheels are suitable for
coarse surface grinding. They achieve
their best grinding result when you
move the wire brush wheel over the
workpiece with moderate force. When
you are working with a soft material,
you should guide the wire brush wheel at a flat angle
over the workpiece; for hard material, guide it at a
somewhat steeper angle.
Never use cut-off wheels for wire brushing!
Sanding with the Rubber Backing Pad
Sanding paper consists of special paper or fabric base
and binder, on which the sanding grain is scattered.
The choice of an appropriate sanding paper is gov-
erned by the material that is to be worked. Bosch of-
fers various sanding disc qualities, which are suitable
for the rubber backing pad. Consult your dealer.
