Data Transfer - Kathrein MSK 105 Betriebsanleitung

If satellite data change, Kathrein will provide a software update, available as a download.
This update is simultaneously a program to transfer the new transponder list to your measuring instrument.
The program is not pre-installed in your measuring instrument; you must download it from Kathrein's
website again and again. To do so, go to "www.kathrein.de", "Service", "Software and Downloads", "Measuring
instruments", "MSK 105".
Observe the following instructions to upload new software to your measuring instrument:
Disconnect the meter from the computer → Switch on → Ready for use.
Trouble-shooting to overcome fi le transfer problems.

DATA TRANSFER

1) Now connect the MSK 105 to your PC/laptop using the
supplied USB cable and switch the measuring instrument on.
Wait until the connection is established between your PC/
laptop and the MSK 105. You can now run the program to
transfer the transponder list.
2) Wait until the MSK 105 displays "Programming" (whilst
communications are being established the display may
fl ash and the buzzer sound; this does not indicate a fault).
Important: The software must be installed, without the use of
Umlauts (ä=ae), in a common directory.
3) Check that the USB port is activated.
Click on "Upgrade" and "Upgrade now" (see photos).
After a few seconds, the progress bar will appear.
4) When it is completed, a window with the message "Upgrade
Complete!" will appear. Click on "OK" and close the program.
If the error message "Error - Ack not
received" is displayed, check that the USB
connection has been established correctly
and that the USB cable is not damaged.
