Operating instructions
Thermal imaging camera WB-200
Item no. 1897504
Intended use
The Thermal imaging camera WB-200 enables non-contact infrared temperature measurement
from -10 to +400 °C. The IR sensor (bolometer matrix) has a resolution of 80 x 60 pixels and
allows the simultaneous measurement of 4800 temperature points. Temperature points are dis-
played in a pseudo colour thermal image in the display. Min. and max. ranges can be displayed
on the screen via switchable markers.
A colour graphics display with menu and function keys simplifies operation.
The camera is powered by a replaceable 18650 lithium-ion battery cell, which is charged via
the integrated micro-USB port (charging only). Use only DC voltage of 5 V/DC to charge the
battery (for example, USB socket on the computer or an external USB charger). The DC power
source must deliver sufficient power.
Non-rechargeable batteries (zinc-carbon, alkaline, etc.) may not be connected.
The camera is resistant against a drop from a height of 2 m and complies with IP54. It is dust
and splash proof.
The camera is not ATEX approved. Do not use it in explosion-prone areas (Ex).
Operation under adverse ambient conditions like flammable gasses, vapours or solvents is
not permitted.
Any use other than as described above is not permitted and can damage the product. Further-
more, there are dangers such as short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc.
No part of the product may be modified or reconfigured!
The instructions on safety and charging must be followed without fail!
This quick guide explains the safety measures that should be taken to make working with the
device as safe as possible. The individual functions of the device are described in more detail
in the operating instructions on the enclosed CD.

notices included in these operating instructions.
• Measuring devices and accessories should be kept away from children! They are
not toys..
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• In schools, training centres, hobby and self-help groups, the use of chargers and
accessories must be supervised by trained personnel in a responsible manner.
• Never operate the device straight away when it is being brought from a cold en-
vironment to a warm environment. Condensation which forms can damage the
device under certain circumstances. Leave the device switched off until it has
reached ambient temperature.
• Switch the device off and secure against unintended operation, if safe operation
is no longer possible.
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- does not function any longer and
- was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress in transit.
• Make sure that you always have this manual at hand to ensure safe operation.
Keep this manual in a safe place and hand it over to the next owner. A number of
safety instructions must be observed during connection and charging.
• Put the device in a secure place so that it cannot fall down! Otherwise, it could
cause injuries. Never place the instrument on a flammable surface (e.g., carpet)
while charging. Put it only on a suitable non-flammable, heat-resistant surface.
• Ensure proper ventilation during charging. Never cover the instrument.
• Never charge damaged or defective batteries.
Notes on rechargeable batteries
Make sure that you have read and understood the following information and safety instructions
before handling batteries.
a) General information
• Do not leave batteries lying around. Children or pets could swallow these. If swallowed, seek
medical attention immediately!
• Do not short-circuit, open or throw rechargeable batteries into a fire. There is a risk of fire
and explosion!
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause burns if they come into con-
tact with the skin. Therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Never use conventional, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Batteries must not get damp or wet.
• Do not leave devices with Li-ion batteries unattended during charging/discharging.
• Observe the correct polarity (positive pole/+ and negative pole/-). If the battery is improperly
installed, it may damage the device and also the battery. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Remove the Li-ion battery from the device, if the product is not used for a longer time (for
example, during storage).
• Do not charge/discharge damaged, leaking or deformed rechargeable batteries. There is a
risk of fire and explosion! Dispose of such batteries in an environmentally compatible manner.
Stop using such batteries.
b) Additional information on lithium batteries
• Li-ion batteries require special care during charging, operation and handling.
• The battery temperature must not exceed +50 °C (also follow all other manufacturer infor-
mation!).
• If the battery is damaged or the outer shell is puffy/swollen, stop using the battery. Do not
charge. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Only use an appropriate charger to charge lithium batteries externally and observe the cor-
rect charging method. Do not use conventional chargers for lithium batteries due to fire and
explosion hazards!
• The instrument is equipped with integrated charging electronics specifically designed for the
type of battery used.
