The RTC 315 model version is shown. The design of the RTC 710 model
version is identical, excepting the following differences:
• The scraping arm is extendable to allow an exact match of its
length to the needed length of scraped pipe surface. To adjust the
length, the inside arm, to which the blade holder is fitted, can be
pulled out of or pushed into the outside arm. This requires loosen-
ing the winged screw located on the arm. After the adjustment
and prior to scraping, the screw has to be safely retightened.
• The extension length of the clamp fingers inserted into the pipe
is not adjusted with a hexagonal knob on the edge of their base
plate, but with a knob sitting on an additional cylinder added to
the base plate for this particular purpose.

Operation

• Using a suitable pen, mark the edge of the electrofusion fitting
(the length of pipe that is in the fitting: slightly more than half
the fitting's length on each pipe butt) on the pipe.
• Insert the clamp fingers of the scraper into the pipe butt and
press them against the wall of the pipe by turning the hexagonal
nut counter-clockwise with the supplied socket key. This will also
center the scraper on the pipe axis.
With RTC 315 model version only: Measure the inside diameter
of the pipe. If it is larger than 110 mm, the appropriate extenders
have to be added to all four clamp fingers.

The pipe butt has to align properly with the stopper brackets
at the rear end of all four clamp fingers or extenders.
Important
• Hold down the quick release of the plate to which the clamp
fingers are fastened and push the drive spindle attached to the
handle with the scraper arm through it.
• With RTC 710 model version only: If needed, adjust the scrap-
ing arm length, loosening, then retightening the winged screw.
• Using the provided knurled knob, lower the blade in the blade
holder of the scraper arm down onto the surface of the pipe to
be scraped.
