6.4 Installation above kitchen furniture

When installing the gas hob above a drawer or kitchen unit,
appropriate precautions must be taken to prevent contact with any
hot parts of the built-in hob.
The manufacturer therefore demands a horizontal separation below
the hob with a minimum distance of 150 mm.
We recommend the installation of a wooden plate in the built-in fur-
niture of the hob with the following characteristics (see illustration):
• The distance between the plate and the un-
derside of the hob must be at least 15 mm.
• There must be a ventilation opening of at least
30 mm at the back of the hob.
• The plate must be easily removable to allow
maintenance work.

6.5 Attaching the sealing tape

Your hob is supplied with a special seal to prevent liquids from
penetrating under the appliance.
For correct installation, proceed as follows:
• Remove all loose parts (pot holder, burner cap, flame generator)
from the hob and turn it over carefully, making sure that the igniter
and thermal sensor are not damaged.
• Remove the seal from the carrier, making sure
that the transparent protection still adheres to
the sealing tape.
• Position the sealing tape correctly on the under-
side of the hob so that the outer edge of the seal
lies exactly against the outer edge of the hob
(see illustration).
The ends of the sealing tape must not overlap.
• Fasten the sealing tape evenly and firmly by
pressing it firmly onto the hob.
