Important notes
Only change the extension and flexion
limits on instruction from your doctor or
orthotist.
In order to prevent hyperextension,
always insert extension stops or 0° stops.
The stops define the exact excursion of
the orthosis. In difficult soft-tissue
conditions, e.g. where the soft-tissues are
under com pres sion, it may be necessary
to insert a larger stop to limit the joint
movement to the desired excursion. In
addition, make sure that the orthosis
hinges are correctly positioned: the
middles of the hinges should be in one
line with the upper border of the patella.
The hinge must lie behind the midline of
the leg.

Fitting instructions

• Undo all the straps and the two front
Velcro strips.
• Wrap the brace tightly around your leg
and fasten the two Velcro strips. While
doing this make sure that your knee is
kept flexed at 45°, and ensure that the
kneecap is positioned in the centre of
the patella recess. The middle of the
brace hinges (extension stop) should
lie level with the top edge of the
kneecap.
• First close the lower calf strap and
then the upper thigh strap.
• Check that the middle of the brace
hinges are still positioned level with
the top of the kneecap (patella) and
slightly behind the lateral midline of
the leg.
• Fasten the upper calf strap and finally
the lower thigh strap.
• Now stand up and bend your knees
gently a few times. Then tighten the
straps in the same order as above to
prevent the brace from slipping.

Care instructions

Velcro fasteners should be closed for
washing. Wash by hand in mild, cold
soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Do not
wring out. Leave in the air to dry. Do not
iron. Please remove the joints before
washing. Soap residues may cause skin
irritation or damage to the material.
When used normally the brace is
maintenance-free. However, after using
the brace in water, the hinges can be
lubricated using Teflon™ spray.
    

Storage instructions

Keep the brace in a cool, dry place and
do not expose to direct sunlight.
