Lithium batteries incorporate flammable materials such as
lithium and organic solvents. If lithium batteries are
mistreated or handled incorrectly, they may burst open and
ignite. This can result in injury and/or fire. When dealing with
lithium batteries, carefully follow the precautions listed below
to prevent accidents.
Do not short-circuit.
Do not disassemble, deform or apply excessive pressure.
Do not heat or incinerate.
Do not apply solder directly.
Do not use different models, or new and old batteries together.
Do not charge.
Always check proper polarity.
To replace the on-board backup battery follow the steps below.
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended
by the equipment manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries
according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Avoid touching areas of integrated circuitry. Static discharge
can damage circuits.
1. Attach an ESD strap to your wrist.
2. Attach the other end of the ESD strap to the chassis as a ground.
Secure the ESD strap to your wrist and to ground throughout the
procedure.
Note
Note that the system chassis may not be grounded if it is
unplugged.
