Important

1. This manual is an integral part of the product and as such
must be kept for the entire lifespan of the unit.
2. Carefully read the instructions before installation and pri-
or to any intervention on the model, in case of doubt con-
tact the manufacturer.
3. The model described in this manual cannot be used as
supplied as it is a component for refrigeration systems
and must be installed by qualified personnel only (see al-
so Installation and Set-up).
4. Do not alter or tamper with the components of the model.
5. Installation must be carried out in accordance to the rel-
evant local laws and to specific conditions of project.
6. The manufacturer shall not be held liable for inconven-
iences, breakdown or accidents owing to disrespect of the
indications of this publication.
7. This manual reflects the state of technology at the moment
of marketing the product, therefore it cannot be considered
incomplete should the evolution of the methods of design
and manufacture require an update of the data stated
herein.

KCE - Applications

1. The model must be used exclusively for the purpose for
which it has been designed: misuse or improper use ex-
empts the manufacturer from any responsibility.
2. Use in non-specified and irregular conditions shall be con-
sidered incorrect, i.e. improper.
3. Product description: air cooled condenser with axial fan
motors suitable to condense refrigerants in steam com-
pression installations.
4. The minimum protection grade for this model is IP54.
Consult the enclosed "PED DATA SHEET" or "ADDI-
TIONAL INFORMATION SHEET" (when included).
The model is supplied with heat exchangers that are com-
pliant to DIN 8964 standard for internal cleansing. The
condenser coils are charged with dry air at 2 bar and are
equipped with 1/4" SAE pressure valves.
The product is in compliance to the conditions of the
73/23 EEC low voltage directive amended by 93/68 EEC
in accordance to CEI 61-50 standards.

KCE W - Applications

1. The model must be used exclusively for the purpose for
which it has been designed: misuse or improper use ex-
empts the manufacturer from any responsibility.
2. Use in non-specified and irregular conditions shall be con-
sidered incorrect, i.e. improper.
3. Description of model: Liquid cooler with axial type fan motors.
4. Ensure that the fluids and additives employed are com-
patible with the materials used for the manufacture of the
model.
5. The models that use water based fluid must be adequately
protected from ice formation in the tubes, since it is not al-
ways possible to completely empty the circuit.
6. The minimum protection grade for this model is IP54.
Consult the enclosed "PED DATA SHEET" or "ADDI-
TIONAL INFORMATION SHEET" (when included).
The model is supplied with heat exchangers that are in line
with the internal cleansing requisites of DIN 8964 stan-
dard.
The product is in compliance to the conditions of the
73/23 EEC low voltage directive amended by 93/68 EEC
in accordance to CEI 61-50 standards.

Identification

For information or requests for assistance, supply the name and
the serial number printed on the model name-plate located un-
der the front cover (refrigerant connection side). For the re-
moval of the cover go to section "Removal of mobile parts".

Inspection - Storage

1. 1. Upon receipt the unit should be immediately visually in-
spected and the shipping forwarder notified of any dam-
ages or shortages. The packaging has been designed to suit
model, adequate means of transport and handling.
2. During transport of model it is necessary to avoid applying
inappropriate pressure on the package, and it must be
kept in the position specified.
3. The model packaged model must be moved and posi-
tioned by qualified personnel by means of one or more
adequate fork-lift trolleys (see dimensional features). In or-
der to prevent possible falls the forks must be longer that
the depth of the package. Avoid abrupt movements and
keep away from maneuvering area.
Always secure models to lifting equipment before starting
relocation operations; possible collisions or violent shoves
may knock over model.
4. The model must be stored in its original crate in a shel-
tered location.
5. Do not stack other material on packaged model.

Conditions of Installation

1. The model is equipped with axial type fan motors that are
not suitable to sustain additional static pressures, therefore
it cannot be fitted with duct ventilation systems or with fil-
ters at the air suction side, and should not be installed in
areas with strong air currents that clash with the air flow
of the fan motors.
2. The model must be installed preferably outdoors, should
it be situated in a closed area it is necessary to predispose
an air vent in order to totally exclude additional static
pressure.
3. The base must adequately support the weight of the op-
erational model (see details in Dimensional Feature
charts.
4. The unit must be firmly secured to the support base, to
avoid noise transmission it is possible to use vibration
dampers.
5. Ensure adequate free space for appropriate air circulation
and for model maintenance. (see installation section).
6. The installation site must be free from foreign objects and
dust that can obstruct the heat exchanger.
7. The installation area must be adequately protected against
particularly extreme weather conditions (for example:
flooding).
8. The installation site must comply with the regulations pre-
scribed by the local laws.
9. This unit must not be installed in explosive, aggressive
atmosphere or other conditions that are not compatible
with the materials of the model (see section "Construction
materials").
10.The ambient temperature must not be under –20°C and
must not exceed 43°C; for installations with temperatures
under 5°C check that snow or ice do not obstruct the coil
fins or hamper with the motor rotation.
11.Always position the model so that the gas refrigerant en-
ters from the top and the fluid exits from the bottom.

Other risks

1. The coil fins are razor sharp, it is therefore necessary to
take measures in order to prevent injury.
2. The headers can reach very high temperatures, avoid con-
tact.
3. The hot air coming from the motors may cause discomfort
to personnel and also cause damage to objects.
