Operating the electronic lock / unlock function
Permanent locking of the joint.
You can use Button A to enhance your safety on uneven surfaces by
deactivating the joint. It remains locked and no longer responds to
your pattern of movement. In order to do so, push the top button as
shown in illustration 3 on page 5.
One-time unlocking of the joint.
Button B allows you to electronically unlock the joint so you can sit
down. However, depending on your level of expertise, you can also
initiate automatic unlocking. You should first practice this procedure
with your orthotist or therapist. Push the bottom button as shown in
illustration 3 on page 5. Remember that the load also needs to be
taken off the joint prior to sitting down (as described in the section
"What do you need to take into account while walking?).
ATTENTION: For safety reasons, both buttons require a "double click"
for activation, just like using a computer mouse.
Control of manual unlocking
1 To permanently unlock the joint, the lock can be released manually.
This allows the joint to be used for special activities such as cycling.
2 The lock must be reactivated for active support during the stance phase.
Power supply - how to install and replace the battery
The battery should last at least one day, provided you charge it regularly
using the supplied charger. Charging the battery after each use of the
orthosis is recommended. Please do not hesitate to ask your orthotist if
you have any questions. The electronic control unit emits a warning tone
when the battery is low! The system switches to safe mode once the battery
is drained. The joint then remains locked at all times (see „Operating the
mechanical release").
Maintenance and care
Please bring the orthosis to your orthotist for maintenance at least once
every 6 months. Your orthotist has a maintenance schedule with a
checklist for the inspection of all relevant components.
