6 Network Configuration

The CIA-40WIFI uses an existing WiFi network to play audio streams. There are several ways to set up and
control the CIA-40WIFI. It can be integrated into the WiFi network via its WPS functionality or the 4STREAM
app ( chapter 7). The CIA-40WIFI can also create a WiFi network of its own that can be accessed via your
mobile device. Both access types can be used at the same time. Cable connection via Ethernet to a router is
also supported. The router must include a DHCP server that will configure the CIA-40WIFI as required. In
any case, when establishing the wireless connection for the first time, make sure to place the CIA-40WIFI as
close as possible to the router to achieve an optimum WiFi transmission. Then install the CIA-40WIFI within
the WiFi signal range. The CIA-40WIFI will save the connection data, so the next time you switch it on you
do not need to re-establish the connection again.

6.1 Access point mode

The CIA-40WIFI can be used as an independent access point to create a WiFi network. This is the easiest
and fastest way to stream audio from an AirPlay or DLNA player on a computer, smartphone or tablet to the
CIA-40WIFI. Multi-room use is not available in this mode.
To connect to the amplifier:
1) Connect your WiFi-enabled device to the CIA-40WIFI. It will be indicated in the list of WiFi networks by
its SSID "CIA-40WIFI_xxxx" ("xxxx" represents the last four digits to differentiate between several
amplifiers).
2) Access to the CIA-40WIFI is open first. It can be password-protected in the network settings.
To change the name and other device settings:
1) The CIA-40WIFI uses a web setup page to view or change the network settings. Open a web browser
and call up the IP address of the CIA-40WIFI: 10.10.10.254.
2) The setup page will be displayed and you can change various information such as WiFi networks,
passwords, SSID and the language setting. In case of multiple CIA-40WIFI, different names should be
used. Go to Network > Change device name to change the name. Please note that changing the
network name (SSID) leads to the termination of the existing network connection.
