6 Description and function

• The control device protects the pump against dry run and controls the start/stop
cycles of the pump according to the flow/pressure conditions of the installation.
• The device is screwed onto the pressure port of the pump or onto the pressure
pipe. It is designed in-line, meaning that both ports are on the same axis.
• The yellow LED (pos. 9) is lit: the pump is switched on and ready for operation, the
extraction points are closed and the operating pressure is maximum. The device
includes a small compensation chamber with water. Its volume is variable, thanks
to a diaphragm that is kept under tension by a spring. When a valve is opened in
the installation, water flows from the small chamber to the pressure pipe and thus
lifts a floater. The green LED (pos. 10) lights up when the pump operates normally.
• The signalling and control elements on the cover are (Fig. 2):
- Yellow LED = mains voltage is present, ready for operation (pos. 9),
- Green LED = pump is operating (pos. 10),
- Red LED = fault, any fault leading to pressure loss in the pipe system (pos. 11),
- RESET = reset key (pos. 8). After checking and rectification the fault, press this
key until the pressure is restored in the unit. This is also valid for the first start-
up. When the start-up pressure is not high enough, the pump goes directly into
malfunction.

7 Installation and electrical connection

All installation and electrical connection work must be carried out solely by
authorised and qualified personnel, in accordance with applicable regulations.

Danger from electric current must be eliminated.
7.1 Receipt of the product
• Unwrap the device and reprocess the packaging in observance of environmental
recommendations.
7.2 Installation
• Instructions for installation and commissioning of the other products that are part
of the installation must be observed separately.
