This manual is intended for the machine operator.
Keep it in a safe place!
The Air Dehider may only be operated:
In a technically safe condition, for its intended
use and in accordance with the applicable safety
and accident prevention regulations
With all the safety devices attached
In accordance with the safety precautions
When the operating personnel has read and
understood this manual, in particular Chapter 2
"Safety precautions" (p. 15) and Chapter 3
"Commissioning and operational safety" (p. 15)
Never reach into the cutting area
of the dehider to avoid the risk of
cutting off limbs!
Wear eye protection or safety
goggles when working with the
dehider!
Only in this way can incorrect operation be avoided
and hazard situations correctly assessed.

1.1 Symbols in this Manual

1.2 Intended Use

1.2.1 Field of use

The Air Dehider is used to remove the skin from
cows, horses, sheep and pigs in non-frozen state.
The machine is not equipped for any other form of
use. Should the operator wish for some other form
of use, please consult Schmid & Wezel GmbH & Co.
(S&W) beforehand.
Use in any other way may result in a risk of acci-
dents and increased wear to the dehider. The user
alone bears the liability for the consequences of any
other form of use.

1.2.2 Residual risks

There is a risk of injury from the sharp, counter-ro-
tating blades. Pay attention to the correct use of the
machine. The machine has no safety switch. There-
fore pay particular attention that the machine is al-
ways laid flat to prevent accidental actuation of the
switch and hence a starting of the machine.
Furthermore, if the compressed air connection is not
made correctly and with a high water content in the
compressed air, there is a possibility of a water jet
escaping at the connection point. Therefore pay at-
tention to correct connection of the hose and to the
lowest possible water content in the compressed
(empty the water trap at regular intervals). The wa-
ter trap does not form part of the machine and has
to be installed upline of the machine.
