ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
3 Electrical installation
The transducer is connected to the instrument via the amplifier box for the instrument. Open up the box and pull
out the circuit board. The 8 m (26 ft) cable from the transducer is connected to the 8-pole screw terminal. The
supplied 4 m (13 ft), 7-pole instrument cable is connected to the connector on the circuit board and the other end
to the instrument. Connect according to figure 5.
Note! Remember to run the cable from the transducer through the hole in the box lid before connecting it.
4 Testing in water
1. Become familiar with your instrument performance at a low speed.
2. Gradually increase the boat speed and observe the gradual degradation of performance due to aerated water
flowing over the transducer's face.
3. If the degradation is sudden (not gradual), identify the boat speed at which the onset occurred. Return the
boat to this speed, then gradually increase speed while making moderate turns in both directions.
