NOTE
A chuck wrench is attached to the center of the body.
If it is pulled toward you, it will be detached. After
using the wrench, attach it to the body securely (see
Fig. 6).
2. Confirm that the battery is mounted correctly.
3. Check the rotational direction
When the selector lever is set to
clockwise when viewed from the drill rear. When set
to , the drill rotates counterclockwise (see Fig. 7).

CAUTION
When the trigger switch is depressed, the selector
lever cannot be moved. Always release the trigger
switch to move the selector lever.
Always use the impact drill with clockwise rotation,
when using it as an impact drill.
4. IMPACT to ROTATION changeover (Fig. 8)
The impact drill can be switched from IMPACT (impact
plus rotation) to ROTATION (rotation only) by simply
sliding the change lever.
When boring brick of similar materials, slide the
change lever to the right. The drill head impacts
against the material while continuing to rotate.
When boring metal, wood, or plastic, slide the change
lever to the left. The drill simply rotates as an ordinary
drill.
CAUTION
Do not use the impact drill in the IMPACT function if
the material can be bored by rotation only. Such action
will not only reduce drill efficiency, but may also
damage the drill tip. When changing over, ensure that
the change lever is slid as far as it will go.
5. Change rotation speed
Operate the shift knob to change the rotational speed.
Depress the lock button to release the lock and move
the shift knob in the direction of the arrow (See
Figs. 9 and 10).
When the shift knob is set to "LOW", the drill rotates
at a low speed. When set to "HIGH", the drill rotates
at a high speed, if the shift knob cannot be moved
smoothly, clasp the drill chuck by hand and rotate the
spindle slightly.
CAUTIONS
When changing the rotational speed with the shift
knob, confirm that the switch is off and locked.
Changing the speed while the motor is rotating will
damage the gears.
To mesh the gears, certainly move the shift knob so
that the "LOW" or "HIGH" mark can fully be seen (see
Figs. 9 and 10).
6. Continuous drilling
When drilling brick, refer to Table 4.

When the impact drill is used continuously, the body
may be heated. If this happens, leave the impact drill
to cool.
If the impact drill is used continuously to drill more
holes than specified in Table 4 the motor will be burnt.

HOW TO USE

CAUTIONS
While operating the impact drill, take care not to lock
the motor.
If the motor is locked, immediately turn the power
off. If the motor is locked for a while, the motor or
battery may burnt.
1. Switch lock and switch
To operate this tool, first release the switch lock. (See
Fig. 11)
When the trigger switch is depressed, the tool rotates.
When the trigger is released, the tool stops.
The rotational speed of the drill can be controlled by
varying the amount that the trigger switch is pulled.
Speed is low when the trigger switch is pulled slightly
and increases as the switch is pulled more. (DV10DV
only.)
After use, always lock the switch (See Fig. 11). This
prevents the tool from rotating unexpectedly.
2. For drilling brick
Excessive force never increases drilling speed and it
will not only damage the drill tip and reduce work
efficiency, but also shorten the drill service life. Drive
the drill be 10 – 15 kg force.
NOTE
The use of the battery EB12H in a cold condition
(below 0 degree Centigrade) can sometimes result in
the weakened tightening torque and reduced amount
of work. This, however, is a temporary phenomenon,
and returns to normal when the battery warms up.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

1. Inspecting the tool
Since use of as dull tool will degrade efficiency and
cause possible motor malfunction, sharpen or replace
the tool as soon as abrasion is noted.
2. Inspecting the mounting screws
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that
they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws
be loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do
so could result in serious hazard.
3. Cleaning on the outside
When the driver drill is stained, wipe with a soft dry
cloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not
use chloric solvents, gasoline or paint thinner, as they
melt plastics.
4. Storage
Store the driver drill in a place in which the
temperature is less than 40°C and out of reach of
children.
