3.0 Adjustment of the KWL ventilation unit
The following points must be taken into account or checked in advance before the initial start-up of the
KWL ventilation unit described in "section 4":
1. Are all ventilation components (unit, distribution box, valves) easily accessible?
2. Are all interior fittings complete (doors installed, overflow measures installed and openings
available)?
3. The unit must not be operated during the construction phase!
If it is, the following points must be dealt with first:
– The ventilation unit and all lines must be checked for dirt and cleaned if necessary
– Unit filters must be replaced with new filters
4. Is the unit bypass deactivated?
5. Are all supply and extract air elements available in the rooms?
6. Are all supply and extract air elements completely opened?
(supply air poppet valve min. 10 turns, extract air poppet valve min. 12 turns to open)
7. After the initial start-up, the air volumes calculated according to DIN 1946, part 6 are set in the
ventilation control system.
3.1 Adjustment: Procedure using the compact wall unit KWL EC 200 W as example (speed constant)
Also valid for the unit types KWL EC 300 W/500 W and KWL EC 220 D/340 D
Step 1: Mark the desired operating point for nominal ventilation, e.g. 110 m³/h at 100 Pa (see below) ext.
resistance of the duct system (accepted - empirical value) (Fig.1)
Step 2: The required voltage for nominal ventilation at stage 2 or stage 3 with 8 V
