Switching on/off

There are various ways of switching the device
on/off:
Switching on/off using button 1
To switch on the device, press button 1.

The device switches on.
Ñ
To switch off the device, press and hold
down button 1 for longer than two
seconds.
The device switches off.
Note:
The device can also be switched on
with switched-off vehicle ignition. To
protect the vehicle battery, the
device will switch off automatically
after no later than one hour if the
ignition is off. You can adjust the time
the device can be operated with
switched-off vehicle ignition. For
instructions, please read the section
"Adjusting the switch-off time" in this
chapter.
Switching on/off via vehicle igni-
tion
If you do not switch off the device with the
button 1, you can switch it off and on again
using the vehicle ignition.
Adjusting the switch-off time
Press the MENU button 7.

switch-off time in 5-minute increments
between 5 and 60 minutes.

Switching on and off with micro-
phone 1
If microphone 1 is connected to the device, the
device can be switched on and off with
microphone 1 for announcements. For further
details, read the section "Microphone mode" in
the chapter "Adjusting the volume".

Switch microphone 1 on with the device
switched off.
The device automatically switches on and
allows announcements via the connected
loudspeakers.
Ñ
Switch off microphone 1.
The device switches off again.
Switching on/off via telephone
If a telephone is connected to the device, the
device is automatically switched on if the
telephone is activated or for incoming calls.
You can then talk with your partner using the
microphone connected to the device and the
loudspeakers.
Upon deactivation of the telephone or ending
the incoming call, the device switches off
again.
