General settings

14.3.1

Maximum recording time

The answering machine can digitally save up to 55 incoming messages with a
total length of 9 minutes. The maximum length for each incoming call is 3
minutes. If the caller's message is longer, the call is disconnected. If there is a
pause in excess of 10 seconds during recording, the call is automatically
ended. When the memory capacity for new messages is used up, no more
calls are recorded and the R LED flashes. The caller receives a message
indicating that no messages can be left.
14.3.2 Setting the volume on the answering machine
If the volume of the answering machine is too high or low when playing back
messages or listening-in to incoming calls, it can be adjusted to one of 3
levels.

14.3.3 Delay taking the call
It is possible to set the number of times the telephone should ring before the
answering machine takes the calls. The number of rings can be set between
2 and 9. In addition, the "toll-saver" setting is available to use the free
pre-remote access function (refer to Chapter 14.9.6).

14.4

Select outgoing message mode

The answering machine is provided with two, pre-recorded outgoing
messages. A distinction is made between outgoing message with message
recording (OGM1) and outgoing message only (OGM2). If no other outgoing
message is recorded, the pre-recorded outgoing message is played
automatically. When the answering machine memory is full, it automatically
reverts to the outgoing message only (OGM2) message explaining to the
caller that messages cannot be left.
