II. Connecting the regulator to the gas bottle
The type 634P/634PR is low pressure regulator in conformity with the European standard EN 12864.
-
Make sure that inlet and the outlet of the regulator are the correct ones for the cylinder
valve and for the application.
-
This regulator has not to be used on caravan and/or motor home.
-
In case of outdoor use, make sure that the regulator is protected from the atmospheric agents.
-
The gas cylinder must always be in vertical position and it has never to be displaced during
the operating. In case of anomalies, close the gas feeding and contact the gas dealer.
-
Do not use flames to detect gas leakages. It is advisable to use a soap solution.
-
In normal conditions of use, to ensure the correct operation, it is recommended to replace
the regulator before the expiring date (10 years from the manufacture year marked
on the regulator).
Fitting hose
Before connecting the regulator to the cylinder valve, take care that the rubber hose (3)
is correctly assembled on the regulator hose nozzle. Insert the hose possibly by using soap
solution. Fix the hose by using the proper hose clip (4), and avoiding to tighten too much to not
damage the rubber hose (in some countries the hose clips and the rubber hoses have standard
dimensions). Verify the gas tight of the fittings by using the soap solution.
Assembly on the gas cylinder
Make sure that:
-
All taps of the consuming appliance are closed.
-
The connecting pipe to the consuming appliance is correctly fitted.
-
The "Compact Quick-on" regulator handle is in the "off" position (fig. No.3.).
With no flame on, remove the seal cap from the automatic valve, place the
"Compact Quick-on" onto the valve and push down firmly and vertically.
You should hear a "click" sound which means the regulator is securely connected (fig.No.2).
III. Note on using the heater for a commercial application
In accordance with the employer's liability insurance association regulation BGV D34 (VBG 21),
a hose-fracture safeguard to DIN 30 693 („hose-fracture safeguards for liquefied gas systems")
and a safety pressure regulating valve with excess pressure safeguard are to be used if the heater
is used for commercial applications (e.g. at an annual fair). The hose-fracture safeguard and the
safety pressure regulating valve do not form part of the scope of delivery.
IV. Putting the heater into operation
Important: Slight deflagration can take place at the burner when the heater is ignited or turned off.
This does not indicate a fault on the device and is no reason for alarm. Always keep an adequate distance from the burner.
1. Open the cylinder valve or, as the case may be, the valve of the pressure regulating valve.
2. Press the regulating knob in the position of a small flame symbol in up to the stop position and while holding it in operate the
piezo igniter several times. Keep the regulating knob pressed in for about a further 10 seconds after ignition has taken place
in order to activate the safety pilot. Should in an exceptional case ignition not have taken place after actuating the piezo
igniter 4 or 5 times, repeat the process after waiting about 2 minutes.
Tip: It is also possible to light the heater by inserting another ignition source (e.g. taper, match) laterally through the radiation
mesh (protective mesh). Take care when doing this that you remain a safe distance away from the burner!
Caution: Certain accessible parts of the heater can be very hot. Keep small children well away from the heater.
V. Turning off the heater
To turn off the heater, close the cylinder valve or, as the case may be, the valve of the pressure regulating valve.
VI. Storage instructions
1. Disconnect the gas cylinder by turning the union nut (1) of the pressure regulating valve (2) clockwise (left-hand thread).
2. Always check the seal of the gas cylinder valve for damage.
3. In case of doubt consult your supplier or filling station.
4. Never keep a liquefied gas cylinder in a house below ground level or in an unventilated place.
