Operation
Starting Operation
The pneumatic tool works optimally at a working pressure of
6.3 bar (91 psi), measured at the air inlet when the pneumat-
ic tool is switched on.
Starting and Stopping
General Information
Note: When the pneumatic tool does not start, for example af-
ter a longer rest period, disconnect the air supply, and turn
the motor by the tool holder 1 several times through. This re-
moves the adhesive forces.
When the air supply is interrupted or the operating pressure is
reduced, switch the pneumatic tool off and check the operat-
ing pressure. Switch the tool on again when the operating
pressure is optimal.
To save energy, only switch the pneumatic tool on when you
are using it.
Thrust-start with Shut-off Clutch
The pneumatic tools have a torque-dependent shut-off
clutch with a wide adjusting range. The clutch disengages
when the set torque is reached.
– To switch on the pneumatic tool, attach the application
tool to the screw and apply light axial pressure to the
screwdriver.
– The pneumatic tool switches off automatically when
reaching the set torque.
When the pneumatic tool is released too early, the preset
torque is not reached.
Reversing the rotational direction (see figure D)
– Right rotation: The rotational direction switch 5 is not
pressed.
– Left rotation: Press the rotational direction switch 5.
Turn the rotational direction switch 5 to lock its position.
Setting the Torque
Adjusting the Torque without Unscrewing the Housing
(see figure E)
– Insert an Allen key (6 mm or 1/4") into the tool holder 1
and turn it until a small slot in the clutch 14 becomes visi-
ble in the opening of the housing sleeve 3.
Note: Do not mistake the slot with the flat side of the round
nut 12.
– Insert the locking hook 13 into the slot and lock the clutch
14.
– Turn the clutch with help of the Allen key.
Turning in the clockwise direction results in a higher torque, in
the counterclockwise direction, a lower torque.
Start with low setting values.
– Remove the Allen key and the locking hook.
Note: For soft screwdriving applications, the safety clutch
does not disengage for low torque settings.

Adjusting the Torque by Unscrewing the Housing
(see figure F)
– Unscrew the housing sleeve 3 (left-hand thread!).
– Pull the clutch 14 off.
Note: Pay attention that the valve pins do not fall out.
– Clamp an Allen key (10 mm) into a vice and insert the Allen
key into the coupling shaft.
– Turn the round nut 12 using an open-end spanner (size
24 mm).
Turning in the clockwise direction results in a higher torque, in
the counterclockwise direction, a lower torque.
Start with low setting values.
– Reassemble the pneumatic tool in reverse order.
Note: For soft screwdriving applications, the safety clutch
does not disengage for low torque settings.
After Setting the Torque
– Adapt the torque to the respective screwdriving applica-
tion (hard, medium, soft) through practical testing.
– Check the torque with an electronic torque measuring de-
vice or a torque wrench.
Working Advice
Sudden loads cause a sharp drop in speed or a complete stop,
yet do not cause damage to the motor.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning
 Have maintenance and repair work carried out only
through qualified persons. This will ensure that the safe-
ty of the pneumatic tool is maintained.
An authorized Bosch after-sales service agent will carry out
this work quickly and reliably.
Use only original Bosch spare parts.
Regular Cleaning
– Clean the sieve at the air intake of the pneumatic tool regu-
larly. For this, unscrew the hose fitting 7 and remove any
dust and debris from the sieve. Afterwards, retighten the
hose fitting again.
– Water and debris particles in the compressed air cause
rust and lead to wear of plates, valves etc. To prevent this,
fill several drops of engine oil into the air intake 6. Recon-
nect the pneumatic tool to the air supply (see "Connecting
the Air Supply", page 15) and run it for 5–10 seconds,
while catching/picking up the escaping oil with a cloth. Al-
ways carry out this procedure when not using the pneu-
matic tool for a longer period of time.
Scheduled Maintenance
– Clean the gearbox after the first 150 running hours using a
mild solvent. Follow the solvent manufacturers directions
for use and disposal. Lubricate the gearbox using Bosch
gearbox lube. Repeat the lubrication procedure every
300 hours after the initial gearbox service.
