• Before fitting the new saw blade, inspect the two
clamping flanges for foreign particles clinging to
them and clean. When inserting the saw blade,
note the correct direction of rotation: the teeth
must point in the same direction as the arrow on
the upper saw guard. Fit the clamping flange and
the flange screw and tighten them by turning
clockwise. The locking bolt can be used as an
aid as when removing the blade.
The locking bolt 8 (Fig. 2) and the
switch lever 2 (Fig. 3) can only be
operated alternately.

Riving knife / splitter

Prior to replacing the riving knife /
splitter, it is imperative to remove the
battery from the machine (refer to sec-
tion 4.3).
Riving knife / splitter 15 (Fig. 1) prevents the saw
kerf from closing behind the saw blade when making
rip cuts. It must therefore be properly adjusted and
used for all sawing work. The correct clearance to
the saw blade is shown in Fig. 4.
• To adjust the riving knife / splitter, release the two
cylinder-head screws 16 (Fig. 1) with the provided
Allen key 5 (Fig. 3) and slide the riving knife / split-
ter as necessary in its slot. Retighten the two cylin-
der-head screws.

Operation

4.1

Initial operation

Before using the machine for the first time, it is
imperative to observe the following notes:
Personnel entrusted to work with the machine
must have read the operating instructions. Main
importance has to be attached to the chapter
"Safety instructions".
Make sure that the safety equipment is attached
and functions. This applies in particular to the
riving knife and slight movability of the retracta-
ble saw guard.
Make sure that the saw blade is fixed correctly.
4.2

Inserting the battery

Slide the charged battery into the battery guide
below the handle until it noticeably locks into place.
Ensure a tight fit of the battery in the
machine prior to use.
4.3

Removing the battery

Unlock the battery by exerting bilateral pressure on
the rippled surfaces 19 (Fig. 2) and slide it off the
handle to the back.
Do not use force.
4.4

Switching on and off

Before switching on, make sure that
the saw blade is freely movable and
the retractable saw guard is closed.
Hold the machine securely by the
two handles.
Do not switch on the machine if the
saw blade is touching the workpiece.
• Switching on: First, release the starting lock-off
by pressing it forwards 1 (Fig. 3). Then, press
switch lever 2 while holding down the lock-off but-
ton 1. As the switch trigger does not have a lock-
ing feature, the machine only runs while this
switch is activated.
• Switching off: To switch off the machine, release
the switch trigger. The starting lock-off button is
automatically re-activated, preventing the cord-
less portable circular saw from being switched on
accidentally.
4.5

Adjusting cutting depth

The cutting depth can be continuously
set within a range of 0 and 49.5 mm
(1 15/16 in.).
For this purpose proceed as follows:
• First, clamping lever 11 (Fig 2) is released.
• The cutting depth can now be adjusted by means
of the plunge lever 6.
