Externe Versorgung (Abb. 6a, Abb. 6b): Wir
empfehlen zur Erzielung der vollen Leistung den
Betrieb aus einer Gleichspannungsversorgung,
wie sie z. B. auch von dem Powermodul Art.-Nr.
5215 geliefert wird. Dieses Powermodul liefert
allerdings nur einen Dauerstrom von 2,5 A, kurz-
zeitig jedoch auch höhere Ströme.
Ein externer Trafo ohne zusätzliches Powermodul,
wie z. B. Art.-Nr. 5200, ist ebenfalls geeignet, lie-
fert aber aufgrund der Halbwellen-Gleichrichtung
im Decoder einen kleineren Effektivstrom. Nach-
teilig ist diese Art der Gleichrichtung z. B. beim
Betrieb von LEDs (Flackern).
5.4 Parallelbetrieb mit Art.-Nr. 5211
Vermeiden Sie, den Decoder Art.-Nr. 5280 mit dem
Decoder Art.-Nr. 5211 parallel aus dem gleichen Trafo
oder Powermodul zu versorgen. Sollte
dies sich nicht vermeiden lassen, so beachten Sie
unbedingt Abb. 10 zur Schaltung der beiden Decoder.
Es ist wichtig, dass am Schalt- und Weichendecoder
Art.-Nr. 5280 die Anschlüsse für rotes und braunes
Kabel gegenüber der Bedruckung vertauscht werden.

External power supply (fig. 6a, 6b): For operat-
ing the accessories with full power we recommend
using an external DC power supply such as the
power module item-No. 5215. This power module
only supplies 2,5 A continuously, however, short
term overload is permitted.
An external transformer without the additional
power module is also suitable. Due to the half-
wave rectification implemented in the decoder, it
only supplies a lower R.M.S. current (root mean
square current). This may lead, for instance, to
flickering LEDs.
5.4 Parallel operation with item-No. 5211
Do not power the decoder item-No. 5280 together
with the decoder item-No. 5211 in parallel from the
same transformer or power module. Should this
be unavoidable then it is absolutely necessary to
observe the wiring diagram shown in fig. 10.
It is important, that the connections for the red and
the brown cable of the switching and turnout decoder
item-No. 5280 are inverted compared to the printing.
