The special configuration mode can be reached with the following DIP-settings. In
this position no cards will be read or any card information transmitted.
DIP1, DIP2, DIP3, DIP4 = off or on
DIP5, DIP6 = on
DIP7, DIP8 = off or on
Within configuration mode you may check or change some additional settings or
get information out of the reader with the ASCII minimal protocol.
ASCII minimal protocol
To operate the ASCII minimal protocol the card reader has to be connected to your
PC. Use serial communication line COM1/2, a converter RS485/232 and a
connecting cable. The communication and operation can be done with a terminal
program like i.e. ProComm. The ASCII minimal protocol allows the configuration of
only one reader. No operation within a bus wiring is possible.

Address: "0", "1", "2" ..."F": bus address of reader for further extension.
"F": to use in existing version, will not be evaluated by the reader.

Data: The response of the reader can be a short acknowledge like OK or NOK
or any more or less long information you ask for.
