Pellets – Requirements
PBMAX burners used in PELLUX boilers are adapted
for burning high quality wood pellets.
For the best performance of PBMAX burners, we rec-
ommend using pellets that meet the following require-
ments:
•
diameter: 6-10 mm
•
length: 30 mm
•
calorific value > 17MJ/kg
•
moisture content < 12 %
•
ash content < 0.5 %
CAUTION
We recommend the use of high quality fuels from re-
liable sources. Fuels should have adequate moisture
content and no mechanical impurities (such as sand,
stones, metal filings, etc.) that can worsen the com-
bustion process and cause device failure.
IMPORTANT
The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for the
failure of the device and the wrong combustion pro-
cess resulting from the use of improper fuel.
Hydraulic System
Pellux 100 boilers can operate both in open and
closed heating systems.
When carrying out the system, make sure it is made
in accordance with applicable standards and legal
regulations.
When connecting the boiler to a closed heating sys-
tem, make sure it is provided with safety devices con-
sisting of:
•
safety valve with inlet and outlet lines
•
diaphragm expansion vessel
•
protection of the heat source against exceeding
the permissible temperature of the heating me-
dium
•
devices for removing excess heat in accordance
with applicable standards
•
monitoring and measuring devices, indicating at
least the temperature of the heating medium on
the supply line and the pressure in the system
•
venting valves, self-venting the expansion pipe
•
drain valves that allow emptying the water space
of the expansion vessel

If the system is provided with an open expansion ves-
sel, the height difference between the highest radia-
tor and the expansion vessel should not be less than
2.5m.
CAUTION
Flush the system before connecting the boiler to re-
move any small impurities that may damage the boiler
or pumps.
Electrical Installation
Pellux 100 HAS a controller installed controlling the
operation of the burner and circulating pumps. Elec-
trical connections of external devices should be made
by a person with appropriate certifications and quali-
fications. Connect the outputs supplying external de-
vices in accordance with the following markings:
•
supply: 1/N/PE 230 VAC 50 Hz
•
outputs to external devices: 230 VAC/50Hz.
For the wiring diagram, see Section 9. Wiring Dia-
grams.
IMPORTANT
Electrical installation and possible servicing may only
be performed by a person with appropriate certifica-
tions and qualifications. Electrical installation and ca-
ble routing must be carried out in accordance with ap-
plicable regulations.
IMPORTANT
No other electrical devices may be connected to the
boiler Power supply line.
Internal Surge Protective Device
The B10 [A] internal overcurrent release protects the
heating system controller, the pump, the burner and the
power supply system against overvoltages in the unit.
