HQ.. m – Axial high-performance fans
2.1
Qualification of personnel
The electrical connections of the fan may only be performed by qualified electricians.
Installation-, start-up-, maintenance work may only be carried out by explosion-proof authorised specialists.
2.2
Additional safety installations
All 1-phase explosion-proof motors are equipped with thermal contacts wired in series with the coil which automatically
turn off and restart after cooling.
2.3
Protection against accidental contact
When installing observe the valid regulations for labour protection and accident prevention! The operator is re-
sponsible for compliance!
– Any contact with rotating parts must be avoided. Make sure that no persones, textiles or other materials which
could be sucked in, as for instance clothing of persons are close to the suction area of the fan.
– HQ.. fan types are delivered serially with a protection grille on the inlet side (DIN 31001). Depending on the installa-
tion conditions a contact safety device on the discharge side may be necessary. Corresponding grilles are available
as accessories.
– Fans protected by their installation in ventilation ducts or closed aggregates do not need a protection grille, if the in-
stallation guarantees the same protection. We emphasize that the operator will be held responsible for accidents
occuring as a result of missing protection devices.
2.4
Air flow direction and direction of rotation
The air flow direction is pulling air over the motor = execution „ A". The correct direction of rotation - when looking over
the motor - is to the left (counter-clockwise).
2.5
Speed control
Explosion-proof fans of HQ .. series are not speed controllable and may not be operated by means of frequency
inverter!
Motors in execution increased safety "e" are generally excluded from operation with frequency inverters.
NOTE: AC motors (special version on request) in flameproof enclosure "d" may be operated by means of frequency inverters.
It is necessary to install filters to protect the motor. This needs to be clarified in each case, object-related!
