YOUR DELTA
The all- new Sports Class wing from Ozone.
The Delta has directly benefitted from technological gains made in
the Ozone Performance Research Project and our open class series
of wings. Our mission to accomplish with the Delta was to absolutely
maximize performance in the 2 / C class by focusing on efficiency
gains that do not sacrifice safety. An added benefit of this was that
we were able to retain stunning agility and handling that will satisfy
even the most demanding pilots. An all new airfoil inspired by the
World Cup Winning Ozone BBHPP and made possible by advances in
our design software has created what we think is the cleanest and
most advanced ever in the class.
True Performance is our quest, and with the Delta this means a
speed range that is fully usable in real conditions. Ultra-smooth
Ronstan pulleys make engaging the speed bar, and maintaining pitch
control via the bar, a pleasure in active air.
Mantra R style mini ribs at the Delta's trailing edge and a new
internal structure to support the advanced line plan have resulted
in a huge reduction of parasitic drag, which is the enemy of glide
and speed. An amazing reduction of over 30% of total line drag has
enabled a totally free performance increase, and put the Delta at
the top of its class in terms of glide and speed. Also, adjustments
in planform working in combination with a carefully moderated sail
tension have increased the roll stability for added comfort in straight
flight.
Suitable for Sport Class pilots who are looking for more performance
than the Rush2 and who want maximum performance without com-
promises will feel at home on the Delta. The Delta is for serious XC
missions in real conditions, anywhere on earth.
Rucksac
The bag has been especially designed for the Delta. It is light in
weight, comfortable and useful (padded hip belt, ergonomic and ad-
justable shoulder straps). It has a large volume that will allow you to
store all your kit, whilst still being comfortable for hiking. We've also
added some pockets on the side and on the top, handy for all those
easily lost accessories.
Brake Lines
The brake line lengths have been set carefully during testing. We feel
it is better to have slightly long brake lines and to fly with a wrap
(one turn of line around the hand). However, if you do choose to ad-
just them, please bear in mind the following:
•
Ensure both main brake lines are of equal length.
•
If a brake handle has been removed, check that its line is still
routed through the pulley when it is replaced.
•
When the brake handles are released in flight, the brake lines
should be slack. There must be a substantial "bow" in them to
guarantee no deformation of the trailing edge.
•
There must be a minimum of 10cm of free play before the brakes
begin to deform the trailing edge. This prevents the trailing edge
from being deformed when using the speed system.
IMPORTANT: In the unlikely event of a brake line snapping
in flight, or a handle becoming detached, the glider can be
flown by gently pulling the rear risers (C-risers) for direc-
tional control.
Risers
The Delta has been designed with 3 risers. The A riser is covered
with coloured webbing, this allows it to be easily identified.
The A's are Grey. You will notice that the A's are split into two risers.
The small riser at the back, holding only one line (outermost A line) is
the 'Baby A', it has been designed to make applying big ears simple.
The B's and C's are BLACK.
