Each disposable Provox Micron HME device can be used for
a maximum of 24 hours
maintain humidification and filtration capacity. Using the product
exceeding the specified 24 h intervals may cause colonization of
harmful microorganisms in the product.
Provox Micron HME provides filtration of the breathing air
through consistent normal use. A fresh device on an airtight
seal gives good protection (read section "Attachment devices"
for instruc
tions how to ensure an airtight seal). However, since there
are other pathways for pathogens to enter the human body Provox
Micron HME can never guarantee total protection.
For effective humidification and filtration the breathing air must
pass through the Provox Micron HME. Check that the seal is air-
tight by closing the Provox Micron HME (fig 2). Restore the seal(s)
if there is indication of leakage.
Do not reuse, clean or soak Provox Micron HME with water
or other liquids. The function of the heat and moisture exchanger
will be substantially reduced if the calcium chloride is washed out
of the foam, and the filter efficacy will be compromised.
Do not disassemble Provox Micron HME. Disassembly will
destroy its function.
Provox Micron HME can easily be inserted and removed manually from
the attachment devices in Provox HME System when needed (fig 3).
