Operation

• By pressing the call button the visitor turns on the infrared LEDs for
illumination of the caller, activates the internal call tone and displays the
image on the main monitor/s for approximately 60".
On responding to the communication, the maximum duration of the
conversation is 90''.
A reassurance tone sounds at the external unit to indicate that the call has
been made; in systems with 2 or more entrances, if the external unit gives a
busy tone instead of the reassurance tone this means that another
communication is already in progress with another external unit.
In case of a persistent shortcircuit on the bus line an intermittent
signaling sound will be heard on the external unit.
• At the internal unit, communication takes place by lifting the handset.
• Both the brightness control and the call volume control are located on the
underside of the Monitor.
• The button marked with the key symbol acts on the electric lock, activating it
for about 2 sec.
• The monitor is switched on by pressing and immediately releasing
Pushbutton 2.
In systems with 2 external units, it is possible to view the image from one
external unit or the other alternately ("swing" function) by pressing
Pushbutton 2 again.
It is not possible to turn the Monitor on during another conversation.
Supplementary main or secondary monitors
Setting JP1 defines whether the bracket in question is to be managed as main
or as secondary. The external unit can manage up to a maximum of 3 Entry
Telephones or Telephones per Call button. When a call is made from the
external unit, the monitor accessed by the system will be that of the main Entry
Telephone.
Any other secondary monitors in the same family unit will remain off. By
responding to the call from the external unit from a secondary Entry Telephone,
the image is automatically displayed on the monitor while the main Entry
Telephone is turned off.
Even without lifting the handset it is possible to view the picture transmitted
from the external unit, simply by pressing Pushbutton 2 - video request on the
secondary monitor.
In the standard configuration of GENIUS KIT, it is thus possible to have a
maximum of 2 secondary Entry Telephones and 1 main Entry Telephone for
each Call button, all powered by the same Art. 1205/B (Variant GK/AAB).
It is possible to manage up to 3 Main Entry Telephones within the same family
unit (i.e. set to the same user code). In this particular configuration, the
additional main Entry Telephones must each be powered by the specific Art.
1212/B (Variant GK/AAE and GK/AAF).
At the call from the external unit, the image is displayed on each of the main
Entry Telephones connected to the system.
Remember that in any case, even when using Art. 1212/B, the maximum
number of Entry Telephones that can be connected to the same family unit is 3.
No dedicated power supply is necessary for any optional Telephone.
