Use the ZM 11 mounting plate for
rectangular wall breakthroughs for
the AE 10.
4. Lay the power cable up to the installation
location, for spacing  previous figure.
Allow for approx. 110 mm of power
cable length in the housing.
11.3 Fit internal shutters
1. Remove the cover [8].
2. AE 10: If desired, drill holes in housing
at both points indicated by an arrow (Ø 4.5
mm). Position housing horizontally, mark
fixing holes and insert dowels.For ceiling
installation, a mounting with 2 screws is
prescribed.
AE 16: Carefully open the lamellae by
hand with the lamellae lever (rear side of
unit), position the housing horizontally,
mark 4 fixing holes and insert dowels.
3. Place socket [6] in the four guides on the
rear of the unit and slide in until stop is
reached.
4. Stick foam strips [7] onto the socket. This
serves to fit the unit in the wall or in the
duct.
It is essential that the foam strips be fitted
so that the unit does not draw in air
erroneously.
NOTICE
Danger of short-circuits caused by
moisture if the cable grommet is not
correctly fitted or if the power cables are
not fed properly into the connecting
area.
 Cable grommet must be installed in such
a way that it lies close to the housing and
tightly encloses the power cables. If
necessary, seal the cable grommet on
site.
 Regarding surface installation: Seal cut-
out [4] and power cable on site if
necessary.
5. Pierce cable grommet [3] with a grommet
puncher.
6. To feed the power cable into a surface-
mounted unit, cut out housing recess at
knockout point [4].
7. Feed power cable into the connection area
such that the cable grommet fits around
the cable sheathing completely and does
not penetrate too far into the connecting
area. If necessary, seal cable grommet or
surface-mounted cut-out on site.
8. Insert housing unit into the wall
breakthrough. The housing must be
installed flush with the wall.
9. Housing unit must be mounted to the
wall or ceiling with suitable mounting
material.
AE 10: Optional for wall installation.
For ceiling installation, a mounting with
2 screws is prescribed. Always mount
AE 16 with 4 screws.
