After use

3.7.1
Precleaning of the chemical protective suit
WARNING
!
Never touch contaminated parts without protective
clothing. Avoid contaminating the clean interior of the
suit.
Failure to meet the required safety precautions may
result in death or serious injury.
1. Leave the contaminated area and have an assistant carry
out a precleaning of the chemical protective suit. The
assistant must also wear protective clothing and possibly
respiratory equipment.
For precleaning, Dräger recommends using plenty of water
with added cleaning agents. This is the best way of
washing off most chemicals (acids, alkalines, organics and
inorganics).
CAUTION
!
If precleaning is not possible on site, remove and close
the suit immediately to prevent chemicals from
entering the suit.
2. Clean the chemical protective suit thoroughly for a
sufficient time. Avoid spreading the chemicals.
3. After contamination with hazardous materials, the effluent
must be disposed of in accordance with the applicable
waste disposal regulations.
4. If necessary, carry out decontamination in several steps.
Contact Dräger for more information on cleaning.
3.7.2
Taking off the chemical protective suit
WARNING
!
Wait to take off the chemical protective suit until you
reach a non-contaminated area.
1. Open the fastener system.
Always pull the zipper tab in the direction of the zipper
mechanism. Do not use force.
2. Remove the left arm from the sleeve.
3. If the chemical protective suit is equipped with a ventilation
unit:
a. Open the integrated waist belt.
b. Have an assistant disconnect the air supply.
4. If the chemical protective suit is equipped with D-connect:
open the integrated waist belt.
5. If the chemical protective suit is equipped with a crotch
strap: detach the crotch strap from the waist belt of the self-
contained breathing apparatus.
6. Remove the right arm from the sleeve.
7. Bend your knees slightly so that the hood can be taken off
easily.
8. Fold the chemical protective suit away from the wearer in
such a way that no chemicals or cleaning agents can enter
the interior of the suit.
9. Step out of the safety boots and trouser legs.
10. Take off the safety helmet, compressed air breathing
apparatus, facepiece and cotton gloves.
