5.4 Continuity and diode tests

The meter is overload-protected up to 250 V /~. However,
never make measurements within a live circuit.
Always measure a diode separately, otherwise the measure-
ment will be inaccurate. For this purpose, it must be soldered
out of the circuit, if required.
1) Connect the black test lead to the jack COM (5) and the red
test lead to the jack INPUT (11).

forward voltage up to 1.5 V at a test current of approx. 1 mA.
With 0 V displayed, the diode has a short circuit. With "OL"
displayed, the diode has a forward voltage higher than 1.5 V
(e. g. in case of LEDs), or it is interrupted, connected in re-
verse direction (reverse the polarity of the diode), or not
connected.

The internal buzzer will sound if the continuity resistance is
below 50 Ω. In addition, the resistance value is displayed. With
"OL" (overload) displayed, the value is higher than 199.9 Ω.

again.

5.5 Current amplification of transistors

The meter is overload-protected up to 250 V /~. However,
never make measurements within a live circuit.
Always measure a transistor separately, otherwise the meas-
urement will be inaccurate. For this purpose, it must be so-
ldered out of the circuit, if required.
1) Plug the adapter (12) into the meter in such a way that the pin
COM plugs into the jack COM (5) and the pin IN into the jack
INPUT (11).
2) Insert the transistor into the adapter according to its terminals
(E, B, C). For NPN types, use the three left contacts, for PNP
types the three right contacts.
3) Set the selector switch (10) to the position "hFE".
