9. Operating the Model

a) Setting the Centre of Gravity

The model must be set by proper placement of receiver
and/or flight battery (and, if required, by addition of lead)
so that the centre of gravity is approx. 80 mm behind
the nose strip of the wing.
To do so, mark the corresponding centre of gravity
position on the ribs of the wing. From the bottom, hold
the assembled and ready-to-fly model at the measured
positions with your index fingers (or a corresponding
device).
If the centre of gravity is set correctly, the model should
be leaning slightly forward.
Important!
Always measure the centre of gravity with the cabin hood in place.
For the first flights, set the centre of gravity at approx. 70 to 75 mm wing depth. The best centre of gravity
then can be reset slowly.

b) Checking the Rudder Deflections

When the construction is performed correctly and the transmitter set, the rudders should have the following deflection
values.
Aileron
Elevator
Side rudder
Attention!
The indicated values show the lower and the upper thresholds of the rudder deflections. Adjust the deflections
individually to suit your personal preferences.
Use a computer remote control for your model to comfortably set the values from the transmitter. If you are
using a normal remote control, the values are set by repositioning the push rods on the servo arms or the
flaps.
