Configuration
Monitoring Time of F Modules
If you are using F modules, you have to select the monitoring time for each F module higher
than the switch-over time of the active channel in the H system (You can find a formula for the
upper limit of this switch-over time in the S7-400 Programmable Controller, Fault-Tolerant
Systems manual, Section 6.3 "Using Single-Channel Switched I/O".).
If you do not observe these regulations, the F modules may fail when switching over the active
channel.
Configuring Communication Modules CP443-1
Ethernet CPs of the CP443-1 type with the order numbers 6GK7 443-1EX10-0XE0 and
6GK7 443-1EX11-0XE0 with firmware version < V2.0.0 must not be configured in full duplex or
automatic operation. If you do not observe this, your H system may fail.
Configuring Modules which are Addressed in the I/O Address Area
Always configure a module which is addressed in the I/O address area in such a way that it
either lies completely within or completely outside of the process image.
Otherwise the consistency is no longer guaranteed and falsified data may be output.

Programming
I/O Access Errors Within DP
If errors occur accessing existing modules without an obvious cause (error-free station), it
might be because the parameter assignment monitoring time has been set too short (see also
the information on the parameter assignment monitoring time in Section 2, Configuration).
I/O Access Using Word and Double Word Commands
If, in the case of I/O access via word and double-word commands, the first byte or the first one
to three bytes are present, but the rest of the addressed range is not, "0" is loaded in the
accumulator.
Example: The I/O is present In the S7-400H with the addresses 8 and 9; the addresses 10
and 11 are not used. The access LED 8 results in the value W#16#00000000 being loaded into
the accumulator.
Using the SFC49 "LGC_GADR"
You are operating an S7-400 programmable controller in redundant mode.
If you enter a logic module address of a switched DP slave in the LADDR parameter when
calling the SFC49, the DP master system ID of the active channel is output in the high byte of
the RACK parameter. If no active channel exists, the DP master system ID of the associated
DP master system of the master CPU is output.
