8.2 Cutting depth (Fig. 4)
You can set the saw blade (4) to the required
cutting depth by turning the hand crank (8).
Turning anti-clockwise: increases the cutting depth
Turning clockwise:
decreases the cutting depth
8.3 Parallel stop
8.3.1 Stop height (Fig. 11 - 14)
The parallel stop (7) supplied with the bench-
type circular saw has two different guide faces.
For thick material you must use the stop rail (25)
as shown in Fig. 11, for thin material you must
use the stop rail as shown in Fig. 12.
To change over the stop rail (25) to the lower
guide face you must slacken the two knurled
screws (26) in order to release the stop rail (25)
from the holder (24).
Take out the two knurled screws (26) through a
slot (27) in the stop rail (25) and re-insert in the
other slot (31).
Re-fit the stop rail (25) to the holder (24).
The procedure for changing over to the upper
guide face is similar.
8.3.2 Cutting width (Fig. 11)
The parallel stop (7) has to be used when
making longitudinal cuts in wooden workpieces.
You can fit the parallel stop (7) to either side of
the saw table (1).
The parallel stop (7) has to be pushed into the
guide slot (22) of the saw table (1) from the
outside.
Using the parallel stop on the left side:
- With the scale (23) on the saw table (1) you
can set the parallel stop (7) to the required
dimension.
- To do so, set the left edge of the holder (24) to
the required dimension on the scale (23).
- Turn the star-grip screw (12) clockwise to
clamp the parallel stop (7) in this position.
The procedure for using the parallel stop on the
right side is similar.
8.3.3 Adjusting the stop length (Fig. 11/15)
The stop rail (25) can be adjusted in longitudinal
direction in order to prevent the workpiece from
becoming jammed.
Rule of thumb: The rear end of the stop should
coincide with an imaginary line beginning at
approximately the middle of the saw blade and
Seite 19
- Slacken the knurled screws (26) and slide the
stop rail (25) forward until the imaginary 45° line
is touched.
- Re-tighten the knurled screws (26).
8.4 Cross stop (Fig. 16)
Take the cross stop (14) out of the holder and
slide it into the slot (a) of the saw table (1).
Slacken the knurled screw (32).
Turn the cross stop (14) until the arrow (33)
points to the required angle size.
Re-tighten the knurled screw (32).
For cutting large workpieces you can use the
stop rail (25) from the parallel stop (7) to extend
the cross stop (14) (Fig. 13).
Important!
Do not push the stop rail (25) too far toward the
saw blade.
The distance between the stop rail (25) and the
saw blade (4) should be approx. 2 cm.
8.5 Setting the angle (Fig. 4)
Undo the locking handle (9).
Push the handwheel (8) to the right until the
pointer (17) points to the required angle on the
scale (d).
Tighten the locking handle (9) securely.
9.0 Sawing operations
Important!
After each new adjustment it is advisable to
carry out a trial cut in order to check the set
dimensions.
After switching on the saw, wait for the blade to
reach its maximum speed of rotation before
commencing with the cut.
Take extra care when starting the cut!
9.1 Making longitudinal cuts (Fig. 17)
This involves cutting through a workpiece along its
length.
One edge of the workpiece is pressed against the
parallel stop (7) while its flat side rests on the saw
table (1).
The saw blade guard (2) must always be lowered
onto the workpiece.
When making longitudinal cuts you must never adopt
a working position that is in line with the cut.
