7. Maintenance and cleaning
A dry lint-free cloth is sufficient for cleaning the product.
For more severe soiling, you can use a cloth moistened with luke-warm water and a
few drops of weak cleaning agent.
Maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by a specialist workshop or a
specialist.
8. Disposal
When the product is no longer usable it should be disposed of according to the valid
legal regulations.
9. Hints & tips
• USB cables cannot be as long as you like. Therefore, if a USB extension cable is
used ,it is possible that problems will arise. This is also true for the USB switch
box, since there is now an additional cable from the PC to the USB switch box.
As a test try shortening your cables.
Up to a length of about 5m in total (from PC to USB device; thus for example 1.8m
from PC to USB switch box plus 3m from USB switch box to USB hub with power
pack) should function without problems for most devices.
For cable lengths greater than about 5m you can obtain so-called "repeater
cables", which amplify the signals.
• Only press one button at a time. If more than one button is pressed simultaneous-
ly the connected PCs and devices may be damaged since there would be a direct
link between the USB ports on two PCs.
• The stand on the USB switch box can be removed by pulling it downwards if you
don't want to use it.
• Only alternate usage is possible – simultaneous use is not possible
For example PC 1 can scan in a picture with a USB scanner .
PC 2 and PC 3 do not have a connection to the USB scanner.
Once the scanning procedure has been completed it is then possible to switch
over to PC2 so that this can scan in a picture. Then neither PC 1 nor PC 3 have a
connection to the USB scanner.

Utilisation en conformité
Le sélecteur USB à 3 voies permet de partager un appareil USB avec un maximum
de trois PC. Il peut s'agir d'un appareil USB unique, p. ex. un scanner USB ou d'un
hub USB auquel sont raccordés plusieurs appareils.
Ce sélecteur permet de s'affranchir de la corvée d'enfichage/débrochage. Une
simple opération de commutation permet – p. ex. au sein d'un petit groupe de tra-
vail – d'utiliser en alternance des appareils USB (une utilisation simultanée n'est
PAS possible) en liaison avec un maximum de trois PC.
