Disposal

An unusable (irreparable) IR Power Switch with Dimmer should be
disposed of in accordance with applicable statutory regulations!

Fault rectification

The IR Power Switch with Dimmer is a switching unit designed to
the latest technological standards, but problems may nevertheless
occur. Because of this, the following describes how some of these
problems can be resolved by the user relatively easily:

Is the distance between the remote

wards the IR sensor?
Is fluorescent tube lighting (indirect
lighting) installed in the room?
Was the first button on the remote con-
trol unit pressed for less than approx. 2
seconds?
Dimmed lighting IIs the light beam from the connected
switches itself off lamp directed towards the IR Power
Switch with Dimmer?

• Except where this can be performed manually, live
parts may be exposed when opening covers or re-
moving components. Connecting parts may also
be live. Before any adjustment, maintenance, re-
pair or replacement of components or assemblies,
if it is necessary to open the unit, it must be dis-
connected from all voltage sources and circuits. If
adjustment, maintenance or repair is subsequent-
ly required on the opened unit while it is live, these
must only be performed by a specialist familiar
with the associated hazards and relevant regulati-
ons (VDE-0100, VDE-0701, VDE-0683).
• Capacitors in the unit may remain charged even
when the unit has been isolated from all circuits.

Maintenance

Other than cleaning the case and the controls as required, the IR
Power Switch with Dimmer is maintenance-free. Under no circum-
stances may it be opened / dismantled. If despite this the unit is
opened, this voids the guarantee. To clean the unit, use a clean,
dry, lint-free, anti-static cleaning cloth.
Do not use any carbonaceous cleaning agents or
petrol, alcohol or similar for cleaning. These could
attack the surface of the case. Additionally, the fu-
mes are explosive and endanger health. When clea-
ning, also use no sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers,
metal brushes or similar.
