8. Assembling the model

Before assembling the model, please read through each individual section carefully. Complex construction phases are illustrated for better
understanding.
Please note that the numbers in the text always refer to the components in the illustration to the right.
Only carry out the described steps in the individual sections when you have completely understood the procedure and know exactly what to pay
attention to.

a) Preparing the installation of the two outer wings at the wing centre section

The outer wing (1) is glued firmly to the wing centre section (3) using the
wing connector (2). Before gluing the outer wing, hold it against the wing
centre section without glue to check if it fits properly. The glue areas
must be free of heat shrink film and cracks.
Caution!
The wing connectors (2) are slightly dihedral and must be
inserted pointing upwards.
Insert a servo extension cable (4) into the wing centre section to the left
and to the right. The required length is approx. 50 cm. If ready-made
extension cables with a connector/coupler are used, the coupler must be
removed. As a result, the servo connector can be plugged into a receiver
output without any need for soldering.

b) Installing the two outer wings at the wing centre section

When all preparations have been made (section a) and illustration 5), the two parts of the wing can be glued together to fit accurately using 5-minute epoxy resin.
Put some 5-minute epoxy resin into the wing connector shaft in the centre section and in the shaft in the outer wing and apply a thin layer of epoxy resin on the
glue areas on both wing parts and the wing connector.
The glue area is secured at the top and the bottom with several strips of adhesive tape until the glue has hardened completely. Excess glue must be removed
immediately with a moistened cloth.
Practical tip:
A proven method is to glue the outer wings one after the other. That way, the wing centre section and the outer wings can be aligned more easily
and stay in place when working on the model. We also recommend protecting the servo extension cable at the glue area using a short, suitable
piece of heat shrink tube before gluing.

c) Preparing the installation of the aileron servo and the aileron linkage

Cut the connecting cables of both aileron linkage servos to a length of approx. 5 cm each.
Strip the open ends of the servo cables and the prepared servo extension cables to approx. 3 mm, put a heat shrink tube of approx. 10 mm on each cable at the
servo and solder up the servo cables and the stripped servo extension cables, observing the correct polarity.
After checking the soldered joints, you can insulate them with the previously attached heat shrink tubes using a heat gun. Connect the servos to a receiver and
carry out a function test. Also determine the servo centre (control stick and trim in neutral position) and attach the servo arms to the servos.
