Version 02/13
Getting started, Connection via RJ45
• Connect the camera's RJ45 connector to a 1:1 connected network cable and its network, e.g.
a network switch.
• Connect the low voltage connector of the camera via the AC adaptor included in the delivery
to a power socket (230V~/50Hz).
There are two LEDs in the RJ45 plug: The LED on the top right indicates the link status (net-
work cable/connection ok), the LED on the top left indicates data transfer via the LAN cable.
The camera is started after a few seconds and the blue LED at the front should be fl ashing.
• Insert the provided CD into the appropriate drive on your computer and start the installation
programme (programme name "IPCamSetup.exe").
Follow all the software instructions. Windows needs to be restarted afterwards.
Please note that the names and descriptions of the installation procedure, as described here,
may be different in newer versions of the software. For this procedure, observe the enclosed
manufacturer's operating instructions
• After having started the programme just installed ("IP Camera Tool"), it searches for available
cameras within the network. If the camera is shown with its respective IP address, double-
click on it.
• A request to enter username and password appears. Enter "admin" as username (lower case
letters and without quotation marks), the fi eld for the password remains empty (do not enter
anything here).
• Click "OK" and then the respective "Sign in" button in the next window depending on the
internet browser you are using.
• Depending on the security settings for your Internet Explorer an error message appears, say-
ing a required ActiveX element cannot be installed or that the installation of the ActiveX can
be started manually by clicking on the information bar.
This ActiveX element is necessary for displaying the camera image. Please note that the
ActiveX software for the Internet Explorer offers more settings than the software for other
Internet browsers.
• Furthermore, it may be necessary to make modifi cations to the settings for the antivirus or
fi rewall programmes before the software will function properly.
Unfortunately, description of the precise procedure is not possible due to several pro-
grammes.
• For further information concerning the software, refer to the CD provided or the manufac-
turer's operating instructions.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impact, blows, or accidental
dropping, even from a low height.
• If the camera is used with other devices (e.g. a monitor), the operating instructions
and safety notices for these devices must be followed.
• A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions.
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials
are to be observed.
• Disconnect the power supply from the camera, if it is not to be used for a while (e.g.
for storage).
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
Test the camera before permanently installing it in the desired place.
To make all the settings, the camera should always be connected fi rst to the
computer via RJ45. Only when the camera works properly can WLAN operation
be set up.
For an easy setup it is strongly recommended that a DHCP server (e.g. contained in
every router) is active in your network.
Note: There must be a DHCP server activated in your network (e.g. the DHCP serv-
er in a router). The PC must be confi gured so it assigns an IP address automatically.
