If safe operation can no longer be assumed, the camera and/or the
power supply unit have to be put out of service and precautions
have to be taken to avoid unintentional use. Disconnect the power
plug from the mains socket!
Reasons to assume that safe operation is no longer possible
include:
• the camera or the connecting cables of power supply units are
visibly damaged
• the camera or the connected power supply units no longer oper-
ate
• after storage for long periods under unfavourable conditions
• after considerable stress during transport
In the event of a fault, power supply units may release more than 50
VDC, which may be dangerous, even if the initial voltage of the pow-
er supply unit is lower.
It is imperative that these safety instructions be followed before
the camera or a connected device is cleaned or maintained.
Live components may be exposed when covers are
opened or components are removed.
Before cleaning or servicing, the device has to be dis-
connected from all voltage sources.
Capacitors in the device may still be charged, even if it
has been disconnected from all voltage sources.
Never replace any damaged connecting cable of power
supply unit yourself. In such a case disconnect the units
from the mains voltage and take them to a specialist
workshop
Repair work always has to be carried out by qualified
experts familiar with the hazards involved and with the
relevant regulations.
