d) Enabling the snooze function and/or exiting the alarm
• At the time the alarm is set, an alarm signal will be emitted (in addition, the bell
symbol is blinking).
• When the button "SNOOZE" (3) is pressed, the alarm signal will be halted for 5 min-
utes. At that stage the bell icon continues to blink (snooze modus is enabled).
Afterwards, the alarm signal will restart.
This process may be repeated several times in a row.
• In order to end the alarm signal (or the snooze mode) briefly press any button.
Range
The transmission range of the radio signals between the outdoor sensor and the base
station is up to 30 m under optimum conditions.
This range specifications refers to the so-called "free-field range".
However, this ideal arrangement (e.g., base station and outdoor sensor on a plain,
even meadow without trees, houses, etc.) never exists in practice.
Normally the base station is set up at home and the outdoor sensor, e.g., is located
next to a window.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission, no specific range can be
guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house. If the base
station does not receive any data from the outdoor sensor (despite new batteries),
please shorten the distance between outdoor sensor and base station or change the
location.
Sometimes the range can sometimes be considerably reduced due to:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated/vapour-deposited insulating glass panes, aluminium windows
• Trees, shrubs
• Proximity to metallic & conductive objects (e.g., heating elements)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interferences, e.g., in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobiles,
radio-controlled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, other radio-controlled
weather stations, baby monitors, etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power supply units, computers
• Proximity to mains sockets, network cables
Maintenance and Cleaning
Apart from the occasional battery change, the product is maintenance-free for you.
Maintenance or repair work may be performed only by qualified personnel or a spe-
cialised repair shop. There are no components inside of the product that need mainte-
nance by you, this is why you should never open it (apart from the approach to insert
or change the batteries, described in these instructions).
To clean the exterior of the base station, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient.
Do not press too hard on the display of the base station, this may cause scratches or
the display to malfunction; furthermore, the display might break.
Remove dust on the base station with a long-haired, soft and clean brush and a vac-
uum cleaner.
Use a slightly damp, soft cloth to remove dirt from the outdoor sensor.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions,
since these could damage (discolouring) to the housing or even impair operation.
