c) Setting up and mounting
• The external sensor is designed for sheltered outdoor use. It should not be exposed
to direct sunlight, as this will result in incorrect temperature readings. Exposing the
external sensor to precipitation can also lead to incorrect readings, as precipitation
cools the surface of the sensor housing. Choose the mounting location carefully so
that the external sensor measures the correct temperature. Never submerge the
external sensor in or under water, as this will destroy the sensor!
• Use the hook (B) on the back of the external sensor to hang it on a wall.
Ensure that no existing cables or pipes (including water pipes) are damaged
when drilling mounting holes or securing screws.
• Secure the external sensor in place using a screw (not included) that protrudes a
few millimetres from the wall. Then hang the external sensor on the screw using the
hook. Handle the external sensor with care when hanging it on the wall.
• Alternatively, the external sensor can be stood up using the fold-out stand (D). Fold
out the stand and then stand the sensor on a stable surface that is shielded from the
wind. The external sensor must be placed in a suitable location within range of the
wireless thermometer (no obstructions, see "Technical data" section).
• The wireless thermometer can be placed on a level, stable and sufficiently large
surface using the stand (4). A suitable mat should be used to prevent scratch marks
on the surface of valuable furniture.
Operation
a) Temperature
• The exact indoor temperature is displayed approximately 3-8 minutes after inserting
the batteries into the wireless thermometer.
• To search for a temperature signal from the external sensor manually, press the
MIN/MAX/+ button (6) for approximately 2 seconds. The signal strength indicator
starts to flash. If a temperature signal from the external sensor was received, the
signal strength indicator stops flashing and displays the strength of the temperature
signal. If the wireless thermometer did not receive a signal, reinsert the batteries
into the external sensor and try again.
• The trend indicator shows the expected outdoor temperature trend using an arrow
(rising, constant or falling).
• HH is displayed if the measured temperature exceeds +50 °C.
• LL is displayed if the measured temperature drops below -10 °C.
b) Setting the time
• Press and hold the SET/°F/°C button (7) for approximately 2 seconds to enter the
time setting mode. The adjustable value flashes on the LCD display.
• Press the MIN/MAX/+ button (6) to choose the desired value.
• Press the SET/°F/°C button to confirm your selection and go to the next value. The
settings appear in the following order: 12/24h>hours>minutes.
• Press the SET/°F/°C button to confirm the last setting and go back to the normal
display.
If you do not press any buttons for 20 seconds after entering the setting
mode, the wireless thermometer will return to the normal display.
c) Selecting the temperature unit
• To select the temperature unit, press the SET/°F/°C button (7). The unit changes.
Pressing again changes it back. You can choose between Celsius and Fahrenheit
for the temperature display.
• The external sensor features a °C/°F button (behind the battery compartment cover (C))
to change the temperature unit on its LCD display (A).
d) Displaying and deleting max/min values
• Press the MIN/MAX/+ button (6) to display the maximum and minimum values for the
indoor and outdoor temperature. The MIN and MAX symbols are displayed together
with the values. The saved values are automatically deleted every day at midnight.
• Removing and replacing the batteries also deletes the saved values and resets the
product.

Maintenance and cleaning

Never use aggressive and abrasive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other
chemical solutions, as these could damage the casing or even impair the
functioning of the product.
• The product does not require any maintenance apart from changing the battery,
therefore do not dismantle it.
• Remove the batteries before cleaning. Only clean the product using a clean, soft
and dry cloth.
• Do not press too hard on the surface when cleaning to avoid scratch marks. Dust
can be easily removed using a clean and soft brush.
