● Select the installation position so that
contamination and draughts are avoided.
● Condensation builds up in the case of heat
recovery, which is lead off over the external
cover. Install the ventilation unit correctly.

 Drill a core hole in the external wall with a
diameter of 360 mm. Allow enough space
for the external and internal cover.
 Install a recessed-mounted box for the
RLS 4 UP recessed-mounted version. The
recessed-mounted box must be supplied
by the customer.
A suitable installation location for the
i
room air control is, for example, a
central position in the room that is to
be ventilated or where the air is to be
extracted from (note the standard 5 m
cable length).
A permitted alternative is a standard
i
6-core control cable with two RJ12
Western plugs, max. length 10 m.
 Install an empty ducting for the control
cable with a minimum diameter of 20 mm
that extends into the drilled core hole.
 Lay the power cable so that it extends into
the drilled core hole.

 Feed the power and control cables from
above through the wall sleeve cut-out and
insert the wall sleeve into the wall.
The wall sleeve consist of 3 connec-
i
table ring segments, each 111.5 mm
wide.
Further ring segments must be added
i
for wall thicknesses > 346 mm, see
accessories "Extension sleeve".
These can easily be cut to the
required width.
With wall thicknesses < 346 mm, a
i
compensating frame must be installed
on the outside of the wall, see
accessories "Compensating frame".
 Insert the supplied polystyrene support into
the wall sleeve and line the unit up with a
spirit level. Make sure the unit is installed in
a horizontal position, with the label at the
top. Use the cross supports to put the spirit
level on (see arrows).
 Plaster the wall sleeve in. Leave the
polystyrene support in the wall sleeve to
strengthen it.
