Before first use

• Remove all packaging materials and check the device and accessories for damages. If any
components are damaged or missing contact your retailer immediately. Warning! Do not
operate the device if it is damaged.
• Open the device by unlatching the lid lock (5) and lifting the lid (3) via the insulated handle
(4).
• Check the power requirements on the device's rating plate. The power requirements must
comply with your household power supply. Unwrap the power cable (7) completely. Connect
the power plug to a suitable power outlet.
• The power indicator (2) lights up red and the device begins heating immediately.
• Close the lid and heat the device two or three times without foodstuffs to remove any
production residue. Leave the device turned on max 5 – 10 minutes per heating cycle.
Burning production residue may cause smoke and an unusual smell. This is a normal
process, however the room should be well ventilated.
• Disconnect the device from the power supply and clean it after it has completely cooled
down as described under

Use

Risk of burning! The device's surfaces get very hot. Never touch hot surfaces
with your bare hand. Touch only the insulated handle.
Risk of burning! Hot steam may escape when the lid is opened. Do not lean over the
device while opening it.
• Place the device on an even, dry, stable and non-slip surface. The front feet (6) are fitted
with non-slip ends.
• Open the device by unlatching the lid lock (5) and lifting the lid (3) via the insulated
handle (4).
• Apply a thin layer of grease to the hotplates (8) before use. You can use butter, margarine or
cooking oil.
• Connect the power plug (7) to a suitable power outlet. The device turns on and the power
indicator (2) lights up red.
• For best results, preheat the device. Keep the lid closed and let the device heat up. As soon
as the operating temperature is reached, the ready indicator (1) lights up green.
• Unlatch the lid lock (5) and carefully lift the lid (3) via the insulated handle (4).
WARNING! Hot steam may escape when the lid is opened.
• Place a slice of toast on the lower hotplate (8). Spread some butter on the toast beforehand.
