PRIOR TO FIRST USE

This chocolate fountain is already assembled when it is removed from the packaging. To
disassemble, proceed in reverse to the directions described in the section "Operation" and
follow the instructions in the section "Prior to First Use".
Remove all packaging materials and inspect the fountain and its accessories for damages.
Clean the tower base [10], topper [7], auger [11] and tiers [8] [9] with water and dish soap and then let them dry
thoroughly. Clean the bowl [2] with a damp cloth and a little dish soap and let it dry thoroughly as well.
When doing so, also pay attention to the sections "Cleaning and Maintenance" and "Safety Instructions".

OPERATION

Danger of burns! Exercise caution when handling hot liquids, surfaces and components.
Risk of injury! Never try to attach or remove accessories during operation.
Preparation
1. Place the fountain on a flat, non-slip and heat resistant surface.
2. In order to ensure an even flow of chocolate, the chocolate fountain must be sitting level.
3. Place the auger [11] onto the drive axle [1].
4. Slide the tower base [10] over the auger and place it onto the pegs [6].
5. Guide the large tier [9] down over the tower base. When doing this, pay attention to the grooves.
6. Then slide the small tier [8] down over the tower base until it stops.
7. Put on the topper [7]. To do this, insert the pins into the grooves until they stop and turn the topper clockwise
until it stops.
Preparing the Chocolate
• The maximum cacao content in the chocolate being used should not exceed 60%. Chocolate
with a higher content of cacao requires the addition of too much oil in order to guarantee a
proper flow.
• When you use a chocolate fondue mixture, follow the instructions on the package.
• Instead of the usual chocolate, milk chocolate, lightly sweetened dark chocolate or white
chocolate may also be used.
8.
Put 600g chocolate (shavings or pieces) and 100ml vegetable oil into a microwavable container and melt the
chocolate in a hot water bath or in a microwave. You can also melt the chocolate in a pan. Stir the chocolate
constantly in order to achieve an even mixture. Should the mixture be too thick, then add a little more oil.
9.
If desired, you may now add approx. 60 ml of an alcoholic drink (e.g. cherry schnapps or brandy) to the
mixture.
10.
Carefully pour the melted chocolate into the bowl [2] until it is approx. 7mm underneath the edge of the bowl.
Make sure that the chocolate is thin enough to guarantee a good flow. Do not overfill the bowl!
Operation
11.
Turn the temperature knob [5] to the HEAT position to preheat the chocolate fountain. Let the fountain
preheat for at least 3 minutes before pouring in the melted chocolate. Attention! The bowl [2] will get hot.
Always use pot holders or another type of hand protection if you have to touch the bowl for any reason. The
pilot light [4] goes on when the temperature knob is in the HEAT or HEAT/FLOW positions.
12.
Turn the temperature knob to the HEAT/FLOW position to turn on the auger. Chocolate will now be guided in
the auger upwards and will cascade down over the tiers into the bowl.
13.
IMPORTANT: Should the chocolate become too thick, then turn the temperature knob back to the HEAT
position for a few seconds and then turn it once again to the HEAT/FLOW position. Should the auger
become blocked, then immediately turn the temperature switch to the OFF position to avoid
damaging the motor.
14.
Now you may dip pieces of fruit or sweets (e.g. marshmallows, cookies, etc.) into the chocolate and enjoy!
Attention! The chocolate is hot.
15.
WARNING: To avoid clogging up, do not let any food pieces fall into the chocolate or into the bowl. In
addition, do not pour any cool or cold liquids into the chocolate, which may cool down the chocolate and
cause it to thicken up, preventing an even flow.
16.
If necessary, add more chocolate. Make sure you do not overfill the bowl.
