• Unscrew the hose for water inlet (IN), the metal coated water hose (OUT), the conductivity measuring
equipment, and the drain valve from the cartridge abschrauben (Figure 6).
• You can now dispose of the cartridge (chap. 10.2).
• To replace the cartridge: Install the new cartridge as described in chap. 4.
• Temporal decommissioning: See indications for appropriate storage, chap. 3.2
• Final decommissioning: Dispose of the unit as described in chap. 10.
When taking into operation the system again, please observe the indications given in chap. 5.

If recycling is impossible, all packing parts can also be disposed of with normal waste.
10.2 Disposal of the cartridge
• Dispose the content of the cartridge according to the local and national regulations on a disposal site
or in compliance with the synthetic material methods. Dispose to an authorized waste collection point.
A controlled combustion is possible. Do not discharge into drains or the environment. In state of
delivery (cartridge not filled with water), the material is not classified as hazardous waste (exception:
UK).
• EU number for exhausted or saturated material used for the preparation of drinking water or water for
industrial use is 19 09 05
If BINDER Pure Aqua Service was used for treatment of fresh water, you can dispose of the cartridge
with normal waste according to applicable local and national regulations (exception: UK).
• EU number for exhausted or saturated material used in waste water treatment plants not otherwise
specified is 19 08 06
If BINDER Pure Aqua Service has not been used for treatment of fresh water and therefore contains
harmful impurities, the cartridge must not be thrown in the garbage (household waste). Dispose of the
cartridge as hazardous waste according to the applicable local and national regulations.
• In UK, surplus product should be declared a 'Special Waste'. Refer to the 'Control of Pollution (Special
Waste) Regulations 1980 - SI 1709'
