2. Symbol explanation

An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions in this operating manual which absolutely
have to be observed.
The triangle containing a lightning symbol warns of danger of an electric shock or of the impairment of the
electrical safety of the device.
The symbol can be found when you are to be given tips and information on operation.
This product has been CE-tested and meets the necessary European guidelines.
Protection class II (double or reinforced insulation, protective insulation)
Measuring category I for measurements at electrical and electronic devices that are not directly supplied
CAT I
with mains voltage (e.g. battery-powered devices, protective low voltages, signal and control voltages, etc.)
Measuring category II for measurements at electrical and electronic devices connected to the mains supply
CAT II directly with a mains plug. This category also covers all lower categories (e.g. CAT I for measuring signal
and control voltages).
Measuring category III for measuring in building installation (e.g. outlets or sub-distribution). This category
