f) Temperature measuring
Make sure that all measuring sockets are unoccupied. Please remove all measuring leads and
adapters from the measuring device. During temperature measurement, only the temperature
sensor must be subject to the temperature to be measured. The meter's working temperature must
not be undercut or exceeded. Otherwise, there may be measuring errors. Prior to performing work
on these cables, you have to perform contact measuring operations to check for the absence of
voltage of the places to be measured. The contact temperature sensor must not be used on life
surfaces, it must be free of any voltage. The K-type thermo sensor may be used for temperature
measurement less than 230 ˚C/446 ˚F.
For measuring temperatures, proceed as follows:
• Disconnect all measuring leads from the measuring instrument.
• Turn the digital multimeter on and select temperature measurement
"°C / °F" using the rotary switch (5).
• Connect the temperature sensor to the digital multimeter while
observing the correct polarity. The TEMP (+) terminal must be inserted
into the V socket (8) and the COM (-) terminal must be inserted into
the COM socket (9). Use the K type adapter included in the delivery.
• The temperature can be displayed in °C or °F. Choose the temperature
unit "ºC or ºF". Press the SELECT button (1) once to switch to the other
unit ºC to ºF or in reverse.
• Now expose the K-type thermo sensor to the temperatures you want
to measure.
Do not measure temperatures on moving/rotating parts or
locations!
• The LC display (4) shows the temperature at the sensor. The unit of
the measured value is "ºC", or "ºF" as set. If "OL" (in the centre of the
LC display (4)) is shown, the temperature measuring range has been
exceeded, or there is no sensor connected.
• After measuring, remove the adapter and turn the digital multimeter off.
Turn the rotary switch to the position "OFF".
